What time do you usually sleep? How many hours do you sleep?

As most of us know, for a person to stay healthy, he should sleep at least 8 hours a day. For younger children, it should be more because they need to grow and develop fully. It has been proven that two hours after one sleeps, the GH or growth hormones are released into the blood stream. These GH are responsible in initiating the growth and development of the cells and tissues of the body, So if one does not get enough sleep especially in his growing up years, growth is stunted. In cases where adults don't get enough sleep, this affects the central nervous system by depressing it. This would result to incoherence, inability to concentrate, errors in perception (wrong perception of time and space) and many more. In other words, whether you need to grow or not, you need sleep. Because when you sleep, your cells are rejuvenated and rested, ready for another tomorrow. That is precisely the reason why we have day and night; night to sleep and day to be active, so what time do you go to sleep? How many hours of sleep do you get daily?

i try to get to bed about the same time each night. i go to bed at about 9:00 and sometimes start dozing off a bit before that. i usually do not sleep through the night so i make sure i get to bed early and get some sleep. i sometimes wake up and have trouble falling back to sleep and i rise early like between 5 and 6 a.m. i put in a very full day so i need a good night sleep. in the summer months when i do not have to get up that early to get my son off to school i stay in bed a bit later and i stay up later at night as well. so i adjust things accordingly.

We go to bed anywhere from 3 am to 5 am, generally. We usually sleep 5-7 hours. On days we are off, we will sometimes sleep 10 hours. I notice a difference when I do not get enough sleep, though sometimes, when I sleep more, or take a 3 hour nap during the day, I feel the effects.

Yeah, it is at times. I set my cellphone alarm to wake me, and then after hitting snooze a couple of times, it does not go off again.

I am a mother of two years old boy son who according to his age is very naughty who doesn't bother to my scolding neither shouting to stay quietly and play his own games he will be always running around doing some things or crying unless he sleeps we don't have peace of mind and go for sleeping too, he controls everyone in this matters as he won't allow anyone to sleep ,usually his sleeping time is 9-9.30pm so after that may be around 10.30 we both will go for bed.In morning too he acts as an alarm clock he will always wakes up at 6.30 am and want to go for toilet. So this is my regular routine of sleeping and waking up time in the morning.Happy posting...

When it comes to sleep, that's something i am really bad at. There never seems to be enough time in the day for me to get anything done. So I usually end up getting less than 5 hours of sleep. I think once I'm done with my studies and have a stable schedule, i'll be back on a regular sleeping pattern.

I have a very busy life and, because I am a mum and I like a clean house as well as work, something has to give and in my case it is sleep. I am up by 4 most days so I can do household chores, prepare lunches etc.. before school or work. I know it is probably not enough sleep but I try to catch up by napping on Sunday afternoons so I can start the week again a bit more refreshed.

Everything you said is right. Me, I sleep about 6 hours a day, sometimes 7.Very seldom 8. There are times that I'm so tired, when I get into the bed, I have trouble falling asleep. Every noise makes me jump-and I can not sleep. I find that the days I did not get enough sleep, I'm grumpy...

usually i go to sleep late, because i have a lot of stuff to do before. or simply i have to be awake, talking with my flatmate, she's very talkative, and when she go , nothing can stop her, and the conversation will last for hours. so i get used to go to sleep at about 2:00 or 3:00 am. then , because of my studies, i get to wake up early, like 7:30am. so if we count up , i usually get 4 to 5 hours of sleep . that's not enough, i know. this is why, i insist on taking the oportinity of sleeping on the weekend. and , i never waste an occasion to make a good siesta , even on day. because, i like sleeping very much, and i think , that my max can be such 12 hours of sleep...oh mercy!

I'd prefer to have around 8 hrs of sleep. But with my work and the things that I like to do, would just allow me around 6 hrs average of sleep per day. I try to make up though on Sat and Sun mornings... =)

I get at least 8 hours, if not more, a day. But, its not all at once. I suffer from insomnia alot so at night sometimes I may only get 4 or 5 hours of sleep. So then I'm tired during the day and make up for it with a nap or two. I also have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome as well which leaves me tired alot. Family complains to me about my sleep habits but I figure since it doesn't affect their schedule at all what's the problem? I mean its just me and my guy now that the kids are grown. And he is usually working during the day so it shouldn't matter to anyone.

Teenagers are supposed to get even more sleep, like 9-10 hours a day. It is so impossible though! With all the homework gets, and if one does a sport. You just can't do it. Plus school makes you wake up really early. Usually I get about 8 hours. More of the weekends of course. However, these last two weeks, I have been so loaded with homework that I haven't been able to go to bed before 12. I HAVE TO WAKE UP AT SIX. It's just not fair and I hate how the teachers and other adults tell you to make sure you get some sleep, especially when teachers do it, because it's THEIR fault we can't get any sleep. /angryrant

lol..such an angry rant indeed. mea culpa. perhaps it would help if you prepare some schedule for doing your homework. But you're right sometimes teachers have impossible assignments, but take your rest as often as you can. Now it's vacation so you can sleep all day long. Good luck and happy holidays.

Sleeping is my hobby. i do like to sleep a lots but never had chance to sleep more than 5 hours. Sometimes I feel that is really waste of time to sleep because I can do lots of thing. The only day I would sleep more than 8 hours is Sunday. Sometimes I would sleep more than 12 hours but when I wake up, I will feel dizzy and tired. So I rather spend less time for sleeping but I just can't. It is my hobby.

getting quality sleep is one of my major health problems..i simply just find it so difficult to sleep..i have been insomniac all my life and i cant do anything about it..i envy those who have good sleeping habits...although i really like the nightlife i also want a normal night sleep...ive tried many types of remedy like taking some sleeping pills which im not really so up to it cuz i dont wanna be addicted to such pills..ive tried stuff like reading a book, drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed or even counting sheep while on bed..hahaha..still these things dont work...ive learned to accept it as part of my body sytem...so 3 to 5 hours of interrupted sleep is fine with me...hahaha...one time a friend asked me what i want for christmas..i remember telling her that i want a real good sleep of 8 hours at least even just for a night!hahaha
