Good news no br*st cancer, bad news cataracts

Well I went to get an eye examination today and got the news that I have cataracts. Well my grandmother had them, so I almost expected I would, but not this soon -65. Anyway now I have to get glasses and I have to get the dilution done, but I have to go to the Mall myself as my husband needs help himself with his stroke. How did this come about? This is what happened. Now what made me upset was that we could have least have ordered the glasses since we were at the Mall anyway, but my husband had to drive all the way to near his doctor's office to get his prescription refilled, and then he decided we should drive to the Br*st health center and wait an hour and a half (no we did not stop at the Mall on the way to order the glasses) and when I got the news that it was benign and no worry, instead of driving to Sears to order the glasses, he decides we should stop at Superstore to get groceries. So now we have enough to last until after Christmas, but have the glasses been ordered, no? Will I get that dilation done, I doubt it. The optometrist is only in certain days and I have to either have someone go with me, or go by myself and sit around at the Food Court for a couple of hours until I can see again. I am wondering whether this is the reason my mother died of stomach cancer, dad told her to look after her health and get help, but then he went and did his own thing. Men!

That is wonderful news, I am so happy for you, I know how scared you were, and it is a scary thought, but it looks like you are going to be fine..As for men, yeah I know, their priorities are kind of screwy isn't it? Do you have a friend or another relative or even a neighbor who will go with you?? I am sure if you explain that you can't go alone, that someone will at least drive you there and pick you up when you are done..

If it is warm enough (ha ha!) I will walk, but if not I will try to get a ride. The appointment is around lunch time, so I will sit around and wait until my eyes clear. It will be hard to resist all that temptation in the food court. All that Chinese food and we do have a Taco Bell in their and I do love Tex-Mex.

Glad to hear the the check up or moved up appointment turned out well but then sorry to hear about the cataracts. men can be so selfish and self centered can't they? You will get things worked out. You usually do. Just ask someone else to take you for the that dilation. I'll bet some one from your church will jump at the chance to help you out.

I got an appointment on Monday, so will walk to the Mall. I have to get my prescription reading glasses anyway, so I will sit around and walk around after the dilation and then come back anyway. If it is too cold, I will see if I can get a ride. They say it is going to warm up a little so it should not be so hard. Besides when I get upset I need the walk, but I will have to wear my sunglasses from now on.

i am so glad that you are clear from the br*st cancer... but i am sorry about your cataracts... and i am sorry that your hubby is acting like a jerk by being so selfish... he should have known the priority and put your needs first before his because it is much more important... i hope you will get your glasses soon... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

most always go get glasses by my self I have even drove home after they were dilated they just gave me those shades to cover my eyes so the sun wouldnt hurt them. Now that my dughter wears glasses too we go together. Yup seems like ya get cataracts at this age but it does take years befor they clod up enough to get the operation to change the lenses in your eyes. SO glad you had the good news that you dont have cancer. hugsssssssssssss '

First of the fact you do not have cancer is wonderful news ,so you can rejoice about that..Now , about the cataracts, that is a minor thing ,a lot of people get those..you will have to wait until they are ripe before they will remove them, until then glasses will help..Cataract surgery does not hurt,it is a simple procedure that will probably put you eyes back to where you may not even need glasses at all..All this sounds just wonderful to me....Men are sometimes difficult,we all know this but as far as your mom getting cancer because your dad acting up? I doubt that. You will as all of us women do,just relax & roll with the flow...Nothing can upset you UNLESS you allow it too...Just get your glasses as soon as you can and be very thankful that cataracts is all you have....

Hello suspenseful! How are you doing? I'm glad to see that you don't have cancer, but it's sad to see that you have cataracts. I think they can get rid of that with laser surgery, right? Wow, your husband should help you at more it looks like, did you ask him why he doesn't? Or perhaps you could wait in the food court, right? Pablo
