Internet's been down and I've got one unhappy panda..... What to do?

Thanks to marine cables being cut in the Mediterranean Sea somewhere the internet in Egypt has been non-existent for the last few days. It is back today, but only 1t around 50% capacity and it looks like it won't be up to full strength again until the New Year. Now the panda ain't happy about this at all, which in turn means that I too am far from joyous at this news. He has been unable to watch his shars in Bamboo Futures online, his live webcam link to a female panda in China has been inaccessable; and his Amazon gift wishlist hasn't been updated for days now..... So how should I keep myself and the Panda occupied then if this continues? I am considering spanking him until he passes out, or turning the air-conditioning to sub zero temperatures so he hibernates; but if these ideas fail then I've got me some issues. Any suggestions because things are really starting to get scary at this end!

I could send you some of the bamboo furniture that I got for my panda James. Yours might like it. I cannot wait to give mine some. I am bursting with excitement. It is a good job it will soon be christmas day. I am worse than the grandchildren.

How's the bamboo furniture stuff going anyways wanderer? Sure, send some my way as I am confident he'll appreciate munching away on a dining setting and bar stools! I am happy to hear of your Christmas excitement too. No Christmas here I'm afraid and it's a normal work day for me. I will make up for it when I eventually get home though as I have missed a number of them now. Thanks for the response and the furniture offer. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

I have put the furniture in the post James. I hope you have plenty of glue because I had to chop it up a bit to get it in the envelope. I think you are being a bit selfish keeping Santa to yourself. You could share him with your neighbours. I am sure they would appreciate it.

I just got a strong sense of deja vu wanderer. Did you feel it also? I will buy glue tomorrow and will also slip customs some bribe money just in case they decide to stop the parcel and ask lots of questions.

I do not think yo should torture him further, he has already had enough and he deserves a chilling session this Christmas. Doesn't he? And what would to tell to someone who has the Internet connection going reasonably alright but cannot catch up with you for she has to keep up with some classical procrastinator's slumps?

But I'm the one getting tortured here mimpi! NO INTERNET! The connections seem to be improving day by day though, so I will give the panda's butt a little respite now I think. As for the procrastinator slumps, you KNOW how to handle them already, yes? Spanking, spanking and MORE spanking and the creativity will flow like a river! Thanks for the comments and Merry Christmas! Nice to see you active.

I hope the connectionis back to full strength now James especially with Christmas. Can't have your Panda going bserk on a special day like this. Next time keep a set top box hand James , Satellite TV. Keeps the Panda engrossed with the remote. Better still get him the live version of his girl friend. Come on its Christmas time, let your furry friend have a great time.

Welcome back yaar! The connections do seem to be picking up again now which is great. It became quite frustrating for a while there and the onada was really becoming difficult to handle. At least I now have some extra experience on how to deal with him if it happens again and can prepare. Satellite could be just the ticket, but he will probably try to use the dish as a water bowl and break it! He is having a good Christmas though, even without a girl panda. Carols, gifts and extra spanking all round! Thanks for the comments and Merry Christmas to you and your family my friend!

I guess there's been so much panda spanking that the panda is probably considering giving you a few spanks just so that you may see how it feels to be spanked! Now, it wasn't poor panda's fault that the cables were cut, was it? Why does he need to be spanked (I'm assuming it's a 'he'). For a change, why don't you leave the computer alone and entertain the panda? That would be fun for everyone concerned (except maybe you....but if you put your mind to it, you can enjoy it). How about singing a few Christmas carols? The panda will be amused for sure.

Gentle or hard...a spank is a spank! Did you consider what it does to the poor panda's self esteem? Goodness James, it's time you had a class on panda 'etiquette'! I'm glad you sung a few 'panda' carols and both of you enjoyed it....quite a sporty panda, I have to say! You probably should start a new interest group on mylot 'Inspired discussions'..lol

I never considered the karma angle Sandhya! But I have always been a gentle spanker so I don't think this would be the case here..... I had to leave the computer alone for a few days when the cables were first cut and it was very frustrating, so I am not sure if I want to do that again anytime soon. The panda likes to surf the net himself every now and then too. We have done the carols thing already by the way. We covered a few classics like "Hark the herald pandas sing" and "Jingle Spank, Jingle Spank". He LOVED it! (You may have just inspired a new discussion topic for me there Sandhya! lol) Well thank you for the comments and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! Oh, reasons aren't really needed to give the panda a good spanking either. he knows it, I know it; and everybody wins!

The constant spanking makes them feel NEEDED Sandhya. There is nothing that inspires higher feelings of self esteem than being needed!

Whoo hoo, Christmas bonus! Enjoy it then riya! Yes, India is affected pretty badly by the same issues faced here in Egypt. Things should hopefully be back to normal by the New Year though. Thank you for the comments and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.

Your air conditioning will go to sub zero temperatures? And, because I am feeling a little sorry for you today, I am not going to point out but only 1t around 50% capacity , or He has been unable to watch his shars in Bamboo Futures online.

Feeling sorry for me today?? You bang your head or somethin'? Oh the joys of highlighting my lack of ability to be infallible Bo. When I grow up, I wanna be YOU! By the way, you don't own any SHARS in Bamboo Futures?? Tough times may be ahead, so you'd better get some as they hold their value well.

I notice that this discussion was posted a year ago, but at first I thought that it might explain your recent absence on here. I know that it is not an addiction to Facebook that has been keeping you away, as I seem to remember you adamantly insisting that you would not go there. Therefore, perhaps you have been spending more time at home with your panda lately and forgetting to take care of the pandas of your on-line friends.

Sub-zero temperature in Egypt James ? I thought there's a big desert there ! What a caring..umm..Panda owner (or carer ?) you are... Miss Chinese Panda (oh now what are them panda gals called ?) is missing her cutie pie too..Dont worry, she'll have other watchers till your net's back... Let him out man, let him catch some land, some wind and oh if possible, some sky !!... look back in the days when Pandae (lol) used to DO stuff before they learnt to tap mice. Let your Panda do something he'd remember.. Or er.. just wait for new year (lol).. Take care buddy...
