What's the chances these little ones will be dumped? My friend is giving these little cuties away to people at the moment but i fear they will become christmas gifts.

On Christmas eve there was a little girl standing in front of Walmart with a box of adorable kittens with little bows around their necks. My daughter almost fell for it but they already have one cat and one dog so she resisted. There were others, though, who took a kitten on impulse and I have had the same concerns. How many of them will end up in the animal shelter because someone gave someone a pet for Christmas that they didn't want.

yeh it's sickening. These bid animal stores should have some kind of policy in place at christmas to stop it happening but then that wouldn't happen because it means less money for them.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to give a living thing as a gift. The pet's person and the pet have to have a bond and that is best accomplished when the person selects the pet him or herself. Many people think others want pets when they really don't. These pets will be discarded to shelters or even abandoned.
