Isn't it strange that we always crave for the things that are to be avoided. The more to be avoided the more craving.

Ha! Ha! A good question. Telling something to myself which is not true cannot be termed as a 'lie'. Sometimes, we keep on doing wishful thinking, knowing fully well, that it is not true, but just to please and make ourselves happy, we start living in an unreal world and start believing in those things, which may not be true in real life.

Never lie for oneself. One must have a self image as realistic as possible else he might suffer from underachieving syndrome. Although he is not be capable of doing a job but because of his self image he will try and fail again and again. This will make him very depressed.

I do it for motivation. like financially I tell myself that things will be better tomorrow but I actually never believe it until it happens hahahah also when I am hurt I tell myself it's ok I will get over it but the fact is I don't get over it until I have my revenge so yeah hahaha I have to find a way to be true to myself because it isn't helping

I feel guilty if I lie so I try to be an upright person. Can never be a good actress trying to act a different person which is only lying to oneself.

I think we all lie to our selves at one time or another. I may be lie to my self when I say my grand baby may not be mentally retarded because he has a cyst in his brain while in the womb.

cyst in the brain will not always lead to mental retardation.the prognosis is quite good.please think positively.

Lying to oneself is crazy, so I think it would be hard deceiving yourself. BUT there are instances when I tried to deny that a particular thing happened and try to erase the memory of it -- but our minds can not lie to us, so it tears me apart still.

at times in life we come to a situation where we just cant face it and we try to act as if everything is normal and then we lie to ourselves.i had also come to such situation but i overcame it soon.one should be strong to overcome such situation......[",]

I wont lie to myself. lying wont bring any benefits. I choose to be more realistic about everything. Accept the truth and find the solution to overcome the problem is the best way. We just wasting our time if we are lying to our self since in the end we will realize the fact and start to find the solution. Yes i know, hard to accept the truth but try again and again ok.

No Riya I can never do that. No one can do that, that's how I feel. How can you make yourself believe when you know the truth! Many times people are in DENIAL. They would not take the truth, the reality. That way they think they are happier but I feel, it's just our endeavor in vain. You cannot cheat our soul, can we?

We all do it most unknowingly but many just to survive. Often the truth is how you perceive things. Something viewed from one side looks entirely different when viewed from someplace else. The lie comes in when you know there is more then one view but can't accept it.
