Your New Year's Wishes as Confetti...

You can go online and "submit" your wish, hope, yearning, dream , yen, etc. to the Times Square Wishing Wall and then they would print it out and include it in the confetti they usually send fluttering down when the New Year happens. Here's the site if you want to do this: http://www.timessquarenyc.org/nye/nye_interactive.html I did this last year. I don't even remember what I wrote/wished for but I hoped it came true.

Maybe you wished to forget what you wrote SaintAnne? If so then it indeed came true..... This is an interesting concept and I will go and add my own wishes right this minute! If a supermodel doesn't turn up at my front door with 10 million dollars during the next month though, I'm comin' back for ya, so be ready!

At first, I only saw the supermodel comment and I was going to tell on you. But then she SHOULD come with 10 million dollars so I guess that's okay. Just make sure to leave a forwarding address when you and the wife leave Egypt and isn't that soon?

The goal is to return home in 2009! It has been far too long since I stepped on Aussie soil so I will be doing all I can to make this a reality. If the ten million shows up in the next month I promise I will give you half. You now have it in writing!

Hi anne! I have lived in NY all my life and didn't know anything about that Wishing Wall! I wonder if that confetti really is the wishes from the wall and the sites! Like who is going to check?lol I always watch that craziness from the comfort and safety of my nice warm apartment where I can get to the bathroom when necessary without having to push through a crowd which I am deathly afraid of! I can never understand why the people that go there do! It is cold, crowded, insane, and dangerous! For crying out loud! It's New York! I'll stay here, 45 minutes from it all! And in the opposite direction only 10 minutes or so from here in the next city from me is another celebration with only 35,000 crazy people in White Plains, New York! That is a City I spend lots of time shopping and visiting! But, again I will pass on that little celebration too!

Crowds that big make me nervous as well, Opal but we spent New Year's Eve last year at the Embarcadero in San Francisco. It was cold and crowded yet I had a wonderful time. Good thing we only had to walk and not drive or search for parking. It would be really cool when one of those people who made a wish found his or her own wish whilst there at Times Square.

I think this is a really fun idea, I sent this out to my friends and family. It will be neat to start a tradition we can all participate in, no matter how far apart we are.

Did not even think about such an idea but you are right. It could be a good tradition although drannhh up there worries about the litter and now I'm concerned at how much paper we are going to be wasting. I wish they could just have a huge jumbotron and have them up there. Thanks again, glords.

Thanks St. Anne. I wished that Iraq would find some stability this year. I feel for the Iraqi people and also our troops... Perhaps I was supposed to wish for something personal. Oh well, if you are going to wish, might as well wish big.

Your wish is your wish, glords. The Iraq war and everyone involved in it needs all the wishes and prayers they could ever have from people around the world. Happy happy new year!

well thats a great idea for the start of the new year. when you have a solid new message for your friends, relatives, lover/beloved then they are just a great help in exprerssing it in mass.everybody has a message and it don't really reach everyone in time. but at timessquare if they are doing it for you then thats a great idea to the all those people who are interested in sharing the messages.
