Yesterday one of my good friends got a puppy. She is 3 months old. Most of the family was calling her Brownie. I thought the name fit. But Daddy didn't like it. So today they are tossing around calling her Reeses. Yes like the candy. They do have a cat they call Snickers. So Reeses has stuck as her name. They will call her Reese for short. Here is her pic!

Depends on the situation, but considering the Dog is going to live at their house, if they are Happy with the name Reeses, that is OK. They are the ones who have to call him, etc. and to me, there is nothing wrong with the name Reeses for a dog as well.

Well since ansering from inbox I can't see the picture yet. My niece got a new puppy for Christmas and they are trying to decide in a name instead of hey you..lol I suggested Tinkerbell since it is a girl and my niece likes Tinkerbell. They are throwing a few names around one being princess, queenie, peanut, and a few others..the dog is brown and black stipes like a tiger.

I like Reese, and with the brown and black brindling, it's kind of reminiscent of the candy being two different tones, as well.

Well, I suppose that is a good enough name. I would have preferred Brownie because in folklore a brownie was a household fey spirit helper. It would have had a good connotation to name the dog as a household helper, especially with an eye to a dog's role in protecting one from burglars and such. The other day, I left the car light.. the interior light.. and our neighbor came out to tell us that it was on. The dog, even while Patrick was only in the yard, barked to let us know something was up. How she could have possibly heard or known Patrick was too close to the house, I couldn't tell you. It's like she has a sixth sense or something. Anyway, this goes to guardianship role for a dog and explaining my connection of the name brownie with the fey spirit. Hope you are having a good day, ersmommy1.

Adorable!!! I like Reeses. I wasn't REAL fond of it until you said they have a cat named snickers. I think that's so funny when people do that. I used to know someone that did that with their dogs. Lucy and snoopy I think is what they named their pups.

my poodle on the stairs seeing us off downstairs - This is a photo of my poodle haohao, which means good and positive and smooth in life and work. She is a cute poodle we love.
Hello ersmommy. I used to have a poodle dog and she is named haohao, which means good and positive in everything. She is a nice and pretty poodle. For some reason we sent it to one of my brother-in-law's friend, where she is staying for good. Here is a photo of my haohao poodle.

Naming dogs after candy! I like Brownie better, but I guess it would be strange to shorten a dogs name to Brown.

I would call this dog SNICKERS. Like a chocolate. Would be so funny to walk the street and call the dog like: "Snickers, come here! Snickers, don`t eat that sh*t! Snickers!!!" Brownie sounds boring to me. Reeses....yes, this one might be fine name as well.
