This is annoying to me

Maybe I am wrong in thinking this way. But I will let you tell me what you think. Ok, Everyone always have told me if I need help with food etc. I should go to a church to get assistance. I don't do this because I don't attend a church on a regular basis and I have always felt that the assistance they give should be for it members. So here is what bothers me. I met this person and first thing they tell me that they are Wiccan. Not sure of the spelling but anyway, this person does not believe in God in no which way. I ran into them and this same person bragging that a church is giving her a place to live, bought 200 dollars in clothes for her and her child, paid two nights at a hotel for her and will help with food as well along with transportation for her. She is so ready to accept all this help but yet God does not exists to her. God is nothing in her life. She will not attend services because she does not believe in God. To me this is wrong. The church is trying to help someone and she is fully taking advantage of their niceness, which she is famous for. I understand that desperate calls for desperate measures but if you do not believe in the Lord than you should not accept the help that his followers are offering. I know I think too much in things like this and I am happy she is getting help but I believe she is wrong for doing it...

Wiccans are not atheists. They believe in a god and goddess. I don't think the church should only help Christians. IF you saw a person starving in the street, would you help them only if they were of your religion? And look at it from her perspective. If there were a fire in your home, and you were homeless, and the only place you could find a place to stay was at a Jewish family's home, would you be compelled to convert to Judiasm, because they helped you? What if the church you go to for food has no food left and you end up going to a synagog- should you be required to convert to Judaism or go hungry? If a Muslim person loaned you money, would you want to be forced to give up your Christian faith? If you were in trouble, should a Non-Christian charity refuse to help you because you are a Christian? Would YOU want to give up YOUR religion just because someone helped you? I think if you look at it like that it seems more fair.

well then how she described her religion to me was false then. I understand that the church helps everyone and you have a good points but I would not go to another religion for help no matter. I believe God has reasons for everything that happens in our life. We do not understand all of them but he works his own way. I feel she is just out to get what she can for free so when she gets money she buys for only her. I have bought lunch for people on the street as I have been on the streets. Religion doesn't matter to me. I just don't like the idea that she has said she does not believe in God but will run to a church for help.

You are feeling personal convictions based on your beliefs. But, Jesus actually told us to help our enemies, give to those who need, and bless those in His name. He also told us to support and assist our brothers. So, the church is there to help those who attend, as well as anyone else in need. If I saw a church who would only help its members, I would avoid it all cost, because to me that sounds more like a cult than the house of the Lord. The Jesus I know and love and follow extended his hand to those who beleived in him as well as those who didn't. Its all for the glory of the Lord, so who we help doesn't matter as much as why and how we help.

The Bible doesn't say to just give to those that believe in Jesus. The church is to show God's love by helping anyone in need even those that don't believe in him. The idea behind those helps is to show God's love for them. After all he loves them just as much as those that follow him.

your thinking is not wrong if she don,t believe in god then she should ask satan to help her.this is what god has to deal with he makes a way out no way and people give him their behind to kiss.stay away from this person she has some problem if she think what she is doing is not from god.

Many churches in our area have giveaways once a month. They interview people to see if they are really in need, and they have to sit through a Bible study before getting the food. They don't disqualify someone because they aren't Christian or of another faith. They do their good deed, and if a person takes food and isn't deserving (lies, etc.), then that is between them and God.
