Comparedby.Us Drops Earnings on Ratings

Due to the influx of users who cheats the system in rating reviews (without bothering reading the review), Comparedby.Us removes the incentive of $0.01 per rating. Here's what the Editor/Product Manager told in Comparedby.Us's blog: Unfortunately the spammers have taken advantage of the bounty payment we offered for rating reviews. There are some users who have rated over 5,000 reviews and it is quite obvious that there was no attempt to actually rate the review properly. As a result we have been forced to cancel the Review Rating payment. The rating system was a bad idea after all and it will not develop a healthy community. I think its a good move for both the site and for the users (even if I lost some earnings from it.) See what the cheaters have caused?

I'm not surprised this happened. In fact, I've been reading all the posts about Bukisa and have been waiting for the axe to fall. The owners of the site are stupid because anybody who has a fair amount of experience online knows that paying for ratings is an invitation for the cheaters to line up and get busy. I don't think it will be long before the rates for writing will also go down. Everything I've read about this site, and the look I took at it, says this is an failure waiting to happen.

Sorry about the boo boo. I meant to say comparedby.us. What I said does apply to Bukisa also, except for the pay for ratings. These kinds of sites are poorly designed and thought out, and the always have to go through a lot of changes and pay decreases to avoid being swamped with cheaters and the desperate.

I joined the site just yesterday through the invitation of a fellow mylotter and instantly i rated quite a few number of reviews, later saw the posts from the editor there that they have stopped the earnings from ratings due to spamming.i guess they dont have that many companies who want new reviews and its just an excuse by the comparedby.us management to hide their inability.

I think that is so sad how some people always ruin it for others. But that is how it alway's is. That is how we alway's end up with laws on the books as well. A few silly people and there we go. No you can't do this or that. It is getting out of hand on alot of things. YOur friend onlydia

i'm a newbie there but things and news like that wouldn't surprise me at all.there really are many people who rate reviews without even bothering to read them in the first place.they are only after the earnings.i think it's a good move from the owner of the site to prevent cheaters from doing their thing there.i do hope that they will not change the review rates.

I hope what happened to Ciao will not happen to comparedby.us. I hope the rate will not change.

I lost quite a bit of money from them doing that but I guess I will just try and write some more reviews to make up for it. I rated quite a few but I always took my time and rated them how I thought they should be rated. There were several reviews I came across that would have one or two sentences repeated over and over again and the review was ranked very helpful. I hate that they had to end it for everyone but that is what has to be done I guess.
