Supposed that you have a personal travel overseas, will you bring your laptop? I think I will bring my laptop. As I can use it to call my family and contact my friends easily. And when I am in the hotel, it can also give me some entertainment. So a laptop for me is a must. How about you?

Hi youless, this mostly depends on how I would like to spend the foreign vacation. Definitely I would bring along with me my laptop if I stay in the same recreation resort and have sightseeing in the nearby hot tourist sites, shopping malls and etc, for I could keep my laptop in the safe of the resort whenever I go out and enjoy my travel relaxingly. Just like you, I depend a lot on my laptop too. Yeah other than to communicate with my loved ones and friends via the laptop I also could enjoy playing games, listening to my favorite music, ... when I am abroad. What’s more it is free of charge I won’t bring my laptop with me if I stay overnight in different hotels. For the sake of safety I have to bring it along with me during the sightseeing from place to place. It is inconvenient and a burden as well by doing this. Of course I couldn’t enjoy my overseas journey relaxingly and happily anymore. So I prefer to spend a little money to use the public computer in the hotel entertainment room. Happy posting and have a great day.

I don't think i would. If I am going to travel overseas, I wil be too busy to check my email and do all the other things I do online. I would just catch up when I got home.

Yup, I will bring my laptop. It's very easy to carry coz it's less than 1.5kgs. Actualy wherever I travel, over three days, I'd bring my laptop. If I am travel abroad for sightseeing, I have to carry it to check a lot of informations on line about the place I am staying. Hotels, restaurants and places of fame and special local products, trasportation, especially. Without a laptop I can really be lost. My laptop is my dearest baby, lol.

I ALWAYS take my laptop... even being English (American) when I travel to countries that speak English their keyboards are all different... I have a travel plug that allows me to plug in anywhere in the world and I am set to go... just make sure when you get a travel plug (NOT a converter) that you get one with a fuse in it! Thanks Zelo

Well, if i have a laptop that is very small... then i wouldn't mind bringing it with me... but the one that i am currently using is still be big kind... so it would take a lot of space... and i prefer to travel very light... I will just use the computer provided by the hotel... because almost all have that now...

It really depends if it would be a long trip or a short one. If it's a short one, then I won't bothered to bring my laptop. But if it's a long one and I might not have a full schedule, then I will bring my laptop to kill sometime.

Hey, Yep, you are right! I don't know what I would do if I wouldn't take my laptop overseas! I might die, of being bored! I mean, I kinda don't really like the massive 17 inch laptops since they are kinda too big and bulky and they take up WAY too much space and weight! I prefer the more smaller laptops where you can just quickly flip open and are already surfing the web before you know it! Like those netbooks and the eee pc's! I absolutely love them! I'm gonna try and get the eee pc 900ha since it combines both a reasonable processor (for its size) and it has a decent sized hard drive (160GB).

I don't bring my laptop when I travel. I try to bring as little luggage as possible, that is one of the reasons why I don't bring it, the other reason is that I am afraid to lose it. I sometimes miss it, but not as much as I thought I would. When I am at home I spend a lot of time online, but when I am travelling, there are so many other things to do, and that is probably why I don't really miss it that much.

This is an important point. Perhaps I can stand to lose a laptop, but I can't stand to lose the data inside. It's so important for me.

hi there youless, I totally agree with you. I would also definitely bring my laptop with me cause it doesnt just give me entertainment when im bored and a way to communicate w/ family and friends but its also like a handy notebook where my important files are and most importantly some memorable photos that i keep. So, if ever i get homesick or whatsoever i could just look at these photos and i would at least feel much better.

youless, In my case, I would definitely carry it with me on my leisure trips abroad. Besides, internet access in most of the hotels are free of charge and it is cost effective for us to communicate with our loved ones back home. Also, in most cosmopolitan cities, there are free wireless access at restaurants, fast food chains, libraries and various public areas. So, I would sometimes carry my Blackberry along too which beats the bulky laptop for portability and convenience. Cheers.

I've never brought my laptop when I've traveled but I really miss not having access. I feel cut off from the outside world without access to my email etc. The key reason that I haven't taken it is for security reasons. When you go out for a hike for instance what do you do with it. I'm not certain that I would be comfortable leaving it in the room and I certainly wouldn't want to take it with me. When we're on vacation, we're usually up early out exploring and out late enjoying some night life. We're only in the hotel to sleep. Most hotels have exercise rooms, pools, jacuzzis and pay per view movies however if you're looking for some activity.
