Does an interesting life make for an interesting person?

Would this fall under a “chicken or egg” dilemma? Or is there any real correlation between the two? How do you feel about the inverse of that statement?

I think that a person can have what seems to be a very interesting life because of their situation, but can be a very boring person in personality. Just because a person may be schooled in many countries and has traveled to countless places and met some famous people does not mean that they, as a person themselves is interesting. Often times, a person may be very interesting for one reason or another, their personality, quirks, whatever, yet they have a boring life.

I'm going to base my answer on personal experience. I've heard very interesting stories about some people before meeting them, only to be very dissappointed when I met them . . . some of these people were arrogant, while others had absolutely no sense of humor or personality. In some cases, however, I have met people with very interesting lives that were very interesting people. Those people, unfortunately cross my path less often then the others I'm afraid. I don't know why . . .

Not always. A person's life may be interesting because of the environment around and not because of his own self. It is difficult to say that you can enjoy someone's company if only he has an active or so to say interesting life.

It is definitely the dilemma thing. I would say it depends on how the person take his interesting life and how life plays with the interest of the person.

an interesting life does help to make an interesting person since all the expriences you have give you more opportunities for more interesting conversation starteers. but there are those people who have lived a lot and have experienced a lot of different things and are still dull. I think tis more important to have an interesting way of thinking thatn anything else. what do u think?

to some degree but not all, personality and action are not always the same, for example a person that does a boring job, can be the life of the party at home and always interesting or funny, where as a person that has an interesting life, maybe a doctor out saving lives, in the most remote places on earth, could also be so painfully shy that in a social setting he or she does not know what to say to people.

I would definitely say that the idea of interesting lives and interesting people surely can go hand in hand. After all what makes the person so interesting in the first place. Just take a look at what they do for a living or how they live. Maybe where they live can tell a lot about them. Take care friend.

I think that question would come under the same heading as having six in one hand and having a half dozen in the other.
