The bible is said to be "inspired" by God. It is written by men, whether inspired or not. Some of these men include: King David, Solomon, and John the Baptist. The bibe is mostly a compiliation of letters, poems, proverbs, and short stories; which causes so many people to doubt its "divine inspiration." Understandably so.

The Bible (a collection of books) was not written by one individual, but by about some 40 different penmen. To mention a few: Moses, King David, prophets (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel), apostles (Matthew, Luke, John, Paul). They wrote at different times, so these individuals did not sit all together to write it. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (New International Version) "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Claims of authorship of any scripture are open to doubt; for instance linguists point out that the Quran shows much evidence of borrowing from previous scripture but to take all claims at face value then the bible was written by different men. The Gospels being the words of Yeshua, who living a sin free life was in perfect communion with God and therefore his words take precedence over all scripture both previous and subsequent. all the best urban
