I have a KB Toys store in my neighborhood and I saw a "going out of business" sign in their window, I can see they are closing up shop. Do you have a KB Toys store near you and have you noticed they too are going out of business?

According to this, they are closing 156 stores. There is also a list of stores to be closed if you want to see if yours will be closing. We don't have one here so, no, mine isn't closing. http://2aday.wordpress.com/2007/11/06/kb-toys-to-close-156-stores-closeout-sale-begins-118 When they first announced, it was supposed to only be 30 stores.

I'll be fine unless Wally World closes. Don't think I've ever even stepped in a Macy's. I'm in Wal-Mart a minimum of 3 times a week!!!

@Marcyaz Yep, and it's so sad because so many good stores are being lost. The rents are crazy high!

Yes, I have a KB toys at the local mall I go to. Though I haven't been there in a while so I have no idea if they are going out of business. It sure is scary that so many places are closing down.

That's a shame KB Toys is going out of business...I didn't go there much but I used to love getting some of the collectible figures like from the movie Lord of the Rings...LOL..have a Frodo, Aragon, etc..I even got a cute Pumpkin thingie for Halloween time some time ago with a Wizard-capped Black cat in it...(gee wonder why I got that..LOL) I remember when that store used to be the clothing store Clark's--do you remember that? Don't know how long you've been in the area. So many stores are closing and no doubt cause of the high rents that are charged. Can't believe the changes in my neck of the woods, like along Broadway..so many places went out of business...then someone new comes along, but then they don't do well, and close also

Well, the only KB Toys we have had in our area closed or is closing this month due to the Economy as well. It was in an outlet mall about an hr. or so from here. We have a lot of Toys R Us around here so most people around here would be lucky to ever even remember one. But it is a shame to see all of these Name brand Businesses having to close due to the Economy as well.

We do have a KB Toy store in our area but haven't been there in a very long time so don't know if they are going out of business. I do need to get to a toy store within the next couple of weeks and get something for our 4 yr. old grandson. Something small so it can be mailed easily. I think this lead scare in toys and clothing is putting all kinds of businesses in distress. Saw something on the news the other night that one little dress, at a resell it shop, to test would cost $50.00. It's pretty sad what's happening with this scare.

We noticed our KB store closing as we were Chritsmas shopping. Of course we had to stop and see what they had. I'm glad we did, they had everything for 40% off. We bought some presents for the grand kids. It's sad to see so many business close.

I hope ToysRus doesn't close too. So many businesses are locking their doors, if it has hit and affected Macy's then no store is safe. How sad.

Yes, I have heard that they are all going out of business. It is kind of a shame, but honestly since they were usually located in malls it was difficult to buy toys there, because then you had to carry them all throughout the mall to get them back to your car, and many toys are big and hard to carry. But they did have pretty good prices. I am sorry to see them go.

That's really not a lot of time to have to use your gift cards, now people have to rush and get there. Guess people can stock on birthday gifts or toys for next Christmas.

Hey howard! Yes, All the KB stores are going out of business! I know! It's sad! They are bankrupt I think! I read something about them on the internet and saw something about it on tv, but I really wasn't that interested since I don't by toys! But, I know that they have been around for a long time and just like so many other stores they are closing shop too!

hello howard i noticed that KB Toys in the mall when i was Christmas shopping was closing here as well. i should rush over there and see what kind of deal's that they might have on any toys and stash them until this year for Christmas. lol you know? i guess that KB Toys couldn't compete with Toys R Us. take care and have a beautiful afternoon.
