Senators Kennedy and Bryd have medical problems at luncheon

It is being reported that Senator Bryd callasped and as parametics came in to help him that Senator Kennedy had a seizure. Looks like this this presidencial luncheon did not go as smoothly as Obama would have wanted. I hope both Senators are ok. What do you think?

I didn't know about Byrd, but I did hear that Kennedy is doing fine. I hope they're both all right. Byrd is getting pretty old. It makes you wonder how much longer he'll be in the Senate.

Byrd will stay as long as he can. I do not see him retiring.

They said that Kennedy had a seizure and that Byrd was so emotional about Kennedy's collapse that he also collapsed. They are now saying that Kennedy had a seizure but was conscious when they put him in the ambulance.

Poor Bryd. He has been in Washington for so long and him and Senator Kennedy are very good friends....I am sure the stress of it was just too much for him. I hope they are both Ok.

I'm surprised to hear this about Sen. Kennedy. I saw him briefly when Obama went over and hugged him and I thought he looked pretty good. I was thinking that Teddy might be around for a while after all. Who knows. I guess at their ages in poor health they take it one day at a time. Two old warhorses that both made it to the inauguration. Wasn't Byrd the one who was once in the KKK?

I do not know if that is true about Bryd but I do know he is 91 and is the longest serving member of congress. He is great friends with Kennedy. I was shocked it happened too. I thought Kennedy was doing better. Hopefully they are both fine and will recover soon.

The latest is that Kennedy will be released from the hospital tomorrow and that he had had a seizure and that Byrd had become upset and disturbed by witnessing Kennedy's seizure and wasn't feeling well so he also left the luncheon. I also hope they're both OK but unfortunately Kennedy is battling brain cancer and Byrd is 90 years old I believe. Despite Kennedy's illness I was surprised at this turn of events since I thought he looked great when they showed him on TV earlier. I'm sure being outside in the bitter cold must have been hard on him since he's undergoing chemotherapy and I recall my dad was always freezing even in the warm house when he was taking it. Annie

I hope they both make a speedy recovery. It was really sad to see that happen today.

I too hope the senators are okay, and hope that they have a quick recovery. On the other hand, I guess that just goes to show hard this campaign has been on everyone.

Well Senator Bryd is 91 years old and Senator Kennedy has a brain tumor. So I really do not think it had to do with the campaign.

Or maybe it did go as smoothly as he had wanted. I hope that both men are ok, but They don't belong at a luncheon with a man that promises change and unity. Senator Kennedy the Elitist, and Senator Byrd the racist. If there is going to be real change the leaders must distance themselves from these kinds of people, and cast them out.

Is this really the proper time to attack either of them this way? Annie
