Do you consider yourself as a Successful Person?

I believe everybody has his/her own definition of success as much as everybody has their own reason in doing things. For me, i do not consider myself as succesful because the way i see it, i'm not even 10% close to my dreams. For this matter, do you consider yourself as a successful person now? What do you consider as your greatest achievment, so far?

My greatest achievement so far, was and is learning to respect myself the way I am. So that I could respect others better too. This is a working from the inside out, that a person needs to work on every day. (well I do) But, I don't consider myself successful yet. But, I am working on it, hahaha! One day it will happen. Take care, happy mylotting.

Yeah, it all starts with one's self. Once we learn how to respect ourselves and how to respects others, a lot of good things will follow. Always think positive. It's all in the state of mind. Be happy!

hi mylotters,in as far as success in life is concerned i could say that im a successful person in a sense that when i finished my studies and land a job was one of my greatest achievement , secondly when my children become professionals and having their own career is another greatest achievement that happens to me . though our status in life is just an average level but i have no regret , in fact im so thankful to have them and considered them as the greatest gift given to me by god. Finally, having a happy family is the greatest success in life that i have to consider. happy mylotting

I was actually doing pretty well at the start of 2008. I had a pretty good job, and was managing to make a little progress towards getting out of debt. Unfortunately, I was the victim of a business scam that ended up costing me $13,000 and my career. I have had to make arrangements to pay the money back to the bank, and I am working for a very nominal wage in a restaurant during he evenings. I am looking for a second job that I can do during the day, but I am not having any luck. I don't know what is going to happen, but I am just trying to make it from one day to the next right now. Hopefully, I will find more work soon. Maybe then I can get things back on track...

Things like that really happens. But what matters most is how you rise from it, not how you fall. Your being persistent will be paid in time. Just be optimistic, always think positive, and you can get things back on track. Good Luck!

Based on my definition of successful, no, not even close. For me to be "successful," I would be making a living as a writer, instead of pocket change/coffee money. I would be happy and stable in a relationship with a fella who is my best friend (and who is also happy and stable in our relationship). I would not be struggling paycheck to paycheck but would instead have a savings account with at least four digits in the balance rather than two.

I can relate to that. It's kinda frustrating. But i learned to focus my time and effort on the tings that i can control. Where we are right now, is the result of the series of decisions that we made in the past. We can't do anything about that. But there's a lot to look forward in the future. We can choose to start today in our journey to success. Every journey begins with a single step. So, let's make it just one step at a time. Just bear in mind that there is only one direction and that is, FORWARD!

as of now, i dont consider myself as a successful person... for me a successful person is someone who is independent and gives great influence to others... but of course we all want to be successful... yet, it is hard to get there... i want to be successful person also... i want to be remembered by people around me as a successful person.. and look up to me as a role model..

I understand. At your age, it's too early to say that. But you can evaluate your present achievements against your personal goals. By doing so, you can learn more and improve. Just don't hurry yourself because whatever it is that you really want in life, you can achieve it thru persistence and consistency. The best is yet to come. CHEERS!

I'm not as successful as I want to be. I don't think anyone ever truly is. I'm doing fine in the employment department. I've been employed in one job for 1 year and one day. It ended in October, because the company opted to restructure. I had another job, too, but that non-profit ran out of money. I just got hired by a magazine and applied for a fellowship at a local college combining poetry and health education. On the personal life front, I'm so single it hopeless. I'm hoping to find someone in '09. The thing I'm most proud of is that I've finally taking my writing seriously. It's always been important to me, but in 2008 and 2009 it's finally moving in a moving in a positive economic direction. Thanks in no small way to a law getting changed.

Well, before I check and announce publicly I must peep into the goal and achievement that I had set and received respectively. So far my goal in my life, I always wanted to be a college lecturer and this thing started growing larger since my high school days. After I completed my post graduation and got the University Grants Commission set norm to become a college lecturer I became one and one thing I am still to get my Phd and this is on the process. So far I consider myself a successful person without any heartburn as such.
