I always need some assistance with my infamous to do list. I feel like I actually can get things done if I have one everyday. Do you rely on a to do list or are you fine without one?

One of my quirks with OCD is listing everything. I am obsessed with them. I have lists for what should be in the bathroom, laundry room and every other room in the house. Then i have lists for what I need to be in that room and what color it is. I have wish lists and to do lists and internet password lists. They go on and on and on. In reality, I don't think i could survive without them. I have to know what is what and where and why at all times.

I am pretty obsessed about them myself. I feel a type of relief that it's there.

It's funny because right when I feel complete, I feel the need to write another list! Woo-hoo!

There are days when a "to do" list comes in quite handy for me. It is so I don't get side tracked on something else during the day. I however notice that I can never do everything on the list so I keep it around throughout the week and get it done. I try not to stress if I can't accomplish everything on the "to do" list in one day, I know it will get done within the week.

Yup, they are really handy... yet, I think I am not satisfied if I don't get it done. Thanks for the reply.

I have found that I tend to be more productive when I have a to-do list to guide me. Having a list to go by tends to help me stay on task, and move easily from one thing to another.

I need a list or I just forget and then I have to do it the next day or get up and do it in the middle of the night.

Why is it that we tend to remember things in the middle of the night? I don't get up to do things at night but that is usually the time I turn my light back on to write the next day's to do list.

I do not have to do lists. Mainly because I'm afraid I might actually figure out that I have alot to do. Mostly I have certain main tasks that I do on different days that stays pretty regular, like laundry and grocery shopping (I will make a list to do the grocery shopping). Then I have the little errrands that pop up that I take care of on an as need basis. I just kind of get those as they come along. I have found most things are not in immediate need of doing and I kind of go with the flow. Now, I may make one exception this year. It's something I have not done in the past. That is, I may actually make a list for Spring cleaning this year. In this case, I know there are alot of things that I need to do and a list may be necessary so I can organize my family to do their share as well.

That is good that you have control and organization in your brain without the piece of paper. I hope your cleaning is a success.
