Jobs you would never do

A lot of people talk about what they would like to do for a living. But what is something that you would never, ever think about doing? For me, I don't think I'd ever want to be a nurse for the incapacitated or the elderly. I'm pretty squeamish when it comes to bodily functions, blood, vomit, and feces and I don't think I'd have the patience. I think I'd also get really depressed after a short while too.

i once saw a feature on TV about unusual jobs and there was this one guy whose job was to capture cockroaches with his bare hands!!!! eeeps. i know pest killing should really be the work of professional exterminators but in my country, a lot of people cannot afford the service so they rely on the cheaper alternative. i don't think i can ever become a cockroach catcher even if it were the last job on earth

I can honestly say that I wouldn't ever do fast food or become an nurse that has to do I.V.'s and pretty much the stuff you said. I'd rather be in the private practice if I was a nurse. But I hated working fast food when I was a teen and would never ever repeat the experience again if you know what I mean. LOL!! Well have a nice one and take care.

I work in the field you just described...and it does take a certain type of person. Now I would never work as a waitress, nor as a construction or for that matter outside work all together. I have no problem dealing with people I know who have something wrong with them physically, mentally, or even emotionally, but I do have a problem with regular people who think they should be treated with red carpet service and who are inconsiderate to others just because...oh and as for the outside stuff....I am not tolerant to heat nor the cold. So I am happy with the oldies.

Oh, I hate people who are like that...normal people that think that think that others should kiss their feet or something. I'm glad that I'm no a waitress too, my friend was one and it looks like a tough job! But I have worked in retail and as a cashier, and I had to deal with people like that all the time. And the worst thing is that you can't do anything about it because you're supposed to be friendly and professional no matter what. As the saying goes, the customer is always right.

When I think about jobs that I would never do, butcher is the first thing that comes to mind. I would not be able to have a job like that. The same goes for any job that is connected to animal hunting, it is totally out if the question. There are other jobs that I would never think about doing, and tv cook is one of them. I hate cooking and I not very good at it, either. In addition to that I am too shy to participate in a tv show, so that would definately not be the right job for me

same here, i don't want to be a nurse or any job inline with medicine because i'm so afraid of seeing people suffer from illness, or seeing blood coming out of them, cleansing their body wastes etc... and i don't think I can take good care of them. I don't want to handle a job that i won't excel at... I will never be a good nurse or a doctor.

Yup, that's how I am. I hate it when I have to visit someone in the hospital too because I always see so many sick and dying people. I don't want to be reminded of my mortality.

I am very sqeemish but I worked in a convelesant hospital and I thought I would never able to be a nurse But actually other people do not bother me. It bothers me if it is family members or my children. I can not stand to see them throw up,bleed or get shots. But stranger's I can. I also do not mind cleaning up their bowel movements etc. I can not tell you why or how I am able to handle strangers and not my family.

The one job I have always thought I would hate and would never want to do is be a waitress. Now I am too old to be working but I still feel that waitressing would be the last thing I would want as a job. When I gave any thought about it what would come to my mind would be me waiting on someone to the best of my ability and when I was ready to serve their meal before I got it on the table they complained about what was on the plate. I could see myself plopping the plate of food right in their lap. (LOL)

I would have to say,"hooker". I know a guy responded to this with giggalo, and it is similar (I didn't read all of the responses so sorry if this is a repeat). I just couldn't live with myself even if the money was good. On a different note, my aunt is an adult foster care mom. She takes in severely mentally handicapped women and takes care of them (for a lot of money). While the money is good there are lots of things that make the job not worth it for me. First it is a 24 hour/ 7 day a week type of job. She does get some time off, but she has to hire a "baby"sitter to do so. Second it is a physical job that sometimes requires moving the women and it often requires cleaning up after them. Most of them have very little communication skills and have behaviors that are hard to handle (one of them eats anything she thinks might be edible including fuzzies on the floor, items in plastic, and I once saw her eat a fairly large stone). It takes more patience then I could ever have. While it is similar to the nurse for the incapacitated or elderly, many of these people have even greater needs and there is no going home!

I would not lik to work in a coal mine, that would be too scary and too confining. I also don't think I would like to work down in the sewers, it would be disgusting, and I don't think that I could handle it. I think I could handle taking care of people, but I wouldn't want to do anything where I was stuck in a confined space, or forced to smell really foul stuff all day long.

Ditto. I have a really sensitive nose and the stench of sick bodies, vomit, bodily fluids, and feces makes me nauseous.

Hmmm how much room do I have to post here...LOL. I think that there are many jobs that I could not do. Being a nurse would be one that I could not do. Poking people with needles would not be something that I could do. I am also not one for bodily functions. I could also not be a butcher. I could not kill or cut up an animal, which brings me to being a vet...also something I could not do. There are so many that I could list.

Well, when I was a kid I kept on dreaming on becoming a doctor someday. But as I grow older, being a doctor is now one of my no-no list of jobs. Handling other people's lives scares me. Plus, the exotic look of human flesh a blood creeps me out.

I would never work a job with food, retail or other customer service heavy jobs. I do not like to deal with people in that situation. I prefer work where I am not around the public and get to work on my own a lot. I find it far easier to concentrate and get more done this way. I suppose I am just not a people person.

I think I will never be found in a call center as a representative. I cannot imagine myself in a working environment with the day as night and vise verse.

I would really agree with you that I would never do a job in a hospital. The smell sucks me and I can not bear that smell so I can not work there. Apart from that the jobs in insurance sector are pathetic and I would never like to do that in my life.

Well i do not think that i can do a job related to cruelty to animals like catching stray animals, slaughtering etc.I just hate the idea of being cruel with animals and this is one thing i will never wish to do.
