I was wondering what anyone's take would be on how a woman looks in a mini skirt after the age of 40. Is it appropriate for a woman that age even if she looks half decent in one? I am 40 years old and am past the time for wearing those skirts.

well i have a denim one and i must admit that i am over 40 and i still wear it when it gets very hot (yes, it gets hot in canada!) but i dont really wear it out that much. i think that if she looks good and feels good in it, why not?

I love mini skirts. I am 44 and I still wear them. But of course you have to have a decent body to get by with wearing a mini skirt. There is nothing wrong with a woman over 40 wearing a mini skirt if she feels comfortable wearing it.

Well.. I think it is silly to use AGE as a factor in how you dress. I do believe you should wear things that both fit and flatter the body you HAVE currently, not the one you WISH you had, or the one you had TEN years ago, or TWENTY years ago... or the one your sister or friend has, know what I mean? I always get kind of a jolt when I see discussions about how people who are over 25 or over 30 or over 35 or over 40 shouldn't wear (insert item here) because honestly there are 19 year olds who should never wear a mini skirt, EVER, and 55 year olds who could go out in a bikini and look hot. I guess I'm saying if you can carry it off and people compliment you and you feel GOOD, then being 40 (or 50 or 60) doesn't matter at all. Don't let something as ridiculous as chronological age affect what you wear or how you dress. It is social conditioning and judgements from other people that makes any of us even question this. I'm 34 and I still wear things I wore 10 years ago, and I'll still be wearing them in 10 more years.
