I am not allergic to seafood but my cousin and every time we cook something like shrimp, clams, crabs and even miles away as long as she smelled what we are cooking, she will get difficulty breathing like an asthma attack. She will start to feel itchy on the neck, then arms and then it will spread to her body. Red looking blisters as a result of scratching too. So the doctor advice her to take antihistamine. But she likes to eat seafood so she tend to drink antihistamines first before eating, and then drink medicine again if there's still more reaction. But one office mate of mine said she overcome her allergy by eating and eating more of seafood till she gets immune to it.

Yes I have the same problem as yours. I am fond of eating shrimps and I used to be allergic to it but still I keep on eating that tasty food. The doctor told me to just take a lot of water. It cleanses the body. Since I started taking lots of water I never had allergies on seafoods then. Try taking lots of water too. Maybe it could help you.

Many people are allergic to shellfish but not other fish. You should find which kind you are allergic to and avoid it. I'm sorry for you to have this allergy, fish are so delicious!

I am not allergic to sea foods but i have a sister and a niece who used to be allergic to sea foods but are no longer. What they did is to disentisize (hope i spelled it right) by eating small pieces of the food until they are disensitize or no longer allergic. but i don't know if it would be safe for everyone to do it.Better you ask medical or professional advice.

So far i haven`t eaten anything that causes allergy so i can`t give you any advice. However if i were you i would rather avoid eating seafood even though you like it. In the beginning you may miss eating it but eventually you will get used to not eating it. It is better to avoid it rather than suffer isn`t it? Moreover you will also save on taking medicines which day by day are getting costlier. Have you consulted your doctor about it? Maybe he can give you some suggestion. All the best.
