Hi to everyone :) Could I ask how long have you had your computer? And when you got your first Computer? I was 10 years old when my parent bought me one and it was in 1999 :) Internet I have since 2002. What about you? Were you scared when you turn on your computer at the first time? I was afraid that I destroy something. What was the first activity which you done on your computer? I think it is the nice topic to discuss :) So... lets start ;)

I have had computers since 1984 and started my first business in 1987 as a computer instructor. I didn't get internet here until 1995 and I was pretty close to the first person here in our city to have it. My computer instruction business went wild with training for the internet for about 2 years maybe a little longer. Now I no longer teach. I have my office in my home and make my living on the internet.

My dad bought me a computer in 1999, and I got internet just last week. And while switching on the first time I wasn't scared but yes I was thrilled at what will happen Bhuff........! or it will just start normally. And about knowing about computers I just know most of the stuff and I always try some or the other stuff just like trying. The best part is, I am still using 10 yrs old computer, waiting for finance from somewhere (mom or dad)to get it upgraded or should wait till my job starts....

I've had the computer and the internet for at least a dozen years. It majorly influence my life. Now I can connect with friends and colleagues without needing to pay money. That makes me happy. I can also earn money on places like this. I don't think I would ever voluntarily go back to pre-internet life. There's a big world out there. The computer helps me explore it.

My dad brought a computer from his office way back in 1997 and it was a pentium 2 computer. At first dad was very afraid that we might screw it up and it will cost a lot for him as it was in those days, but later on when everyone learnt things about computer it was easy and in the same time we taught him too. As computer education was there in the school books we learnt very fast. Internet came a bit late to our home as it was hard to let dad understand its need and also it was a bit expensive so i guess internet connection in the home was only in 2003.

I have had my computer since 1995. When my parents bought it they also applied for internet which we got free for one year. I wasn't that afraid when I turned on the computer he first time because I had already learned a few things about the computer from a friend of mine who had a computer before we did. I was mainly afraid of using the internet because of the things My friends said would happen if I did certain thing.

My first computer was a Commodore 64...A real dinosaur now. I remember sitting for hours typing line after line of code to make a ball bounce across the screen. Half the time I would mess up one letter and it wouldn't work. So frustrating. My brother and I had a box full of floppy disks with games on them, so it kept ys entertained. This was in the late 80s. After I moved out of my parent's house and got a place with my husband we bought a computer, I can't remember what kind, but we thought we had it all with our 256k modem and dial up connection. HA HA! I got online for the first time in about 1994. I kept hearing about the internet on the news and how there was all this information and stuff on it. My curiosity killed me. That is, until I got online. It didn't really live up to my hopes, so I ended up using it mostly for chat and talking to new people. Now I have a broadband connection, amazing graphics card and more memory than I could ever fill, yet I know this computer will be useless in a few years. Right now I'm drooling over the new touch screen computers. They look so cool! But I'll probably wait for a while until the technology improves before I go to touch screen.

I really can't remember the date when we had a computer nor the date when we had internet but what I do remember was how I felt when we got our first computer and internet. I was totally ecstatic and couldn't exactly express my feelings. It's like a mixed emotion of fear, curiosity, and ecstasy.

I got my first computer in 2003. And internet since 2006. First time when i bought desktop, i was not even sure about how to make connection. i.e. where to plug what cable etc. How to start it and all. But as time passes i learnt about computers, hardware, softwares. Today, i can assemble computers and even do repair.

I think we had our internet in 2001 but not sure could have been 2002. It was before we moved to our current house and that was in Aug. 2002 and I thought we had AOL then Earthlink so it was more likely to be 2001. When I got married 20 years ago my husband had a computer then. No internet and it was in black and white, would be a antique now!

I was around 10 years old back in 1998 when I got my first computer. I've been using the computer since I was younger, maybe around 6 or 7 but it was my dad's computer I was using. I only started using the internet when I was in first year high school and I was about 13 at the time. I was never afraid of turning on the computer. I didn't know how complicated the computer was. I just treated it like a normal appliance so I'd just turn it on as if I was turning on a TV. The first thing I did on the computer was learn one DOS command that would bring me to a game.

Our family's had a computer ever since it became a hit. That was back in first grade. I had my first laptop--the one I really call as my own--last Christmas. My fairy godmother bought me a laptop to compensate for her absence for my eighteenth birthday. Internet--since it began. Just in the 2000s. Happy mylotting!

My Mom made me study computer when I was 8 at 1990 of course I forgot all I learned becasue computers back then were a lot more complicated, at 1995 My dad bought us our first computer. I've had my own computer at for the last 3 or 4 years. I first used the internet at 1998, at a cyber cafe. and we had it at home as dial up in 2000, we've had DSL at home since 2004.

I've had the laptop i'm currently using for 6 years. Got my first computer back in the 90's, i'd have to say around 95. Internet, had that since the 90's as well (though it was dial up back then...ahhh, those were the days, 56k modems and even slower internet). To be honest i was excited to turn on the computer for the first time, didn't really know what to expect in terms of a learning curve and ease of use. I'm still learning new things about computers even now, not a bad thing in the least.

I got my first computer back in 1992 when I was 16. My dad got it for me after I asked him for a computer. But when I asked him I wasn't very specific and the one he gave me didn't have an Internet connection. Heck, it didn't even have any windows, it was so primitive! But I hadn't really expected him to agree on getting me a computer in the first place, so I was surprised he got me anything at all. The second computer actually belonged to my in-laws, but it was the first time I had used a computer with an Internet connection. That was back in 2001, I believe. About a year later my husband and I got our own PC. So all in all, I've had computers for almost 17 years and an Internet connection for the past 8 years.

Hello chmiela, i am late in terms of computer usage because i only both my own computer 3 years ago and after 1 year i got my internet connection. I am now 32 years old, imagine i am very late to computer age. LOL. Anyway, i think it is not the matter of the age unless you used your computer in a nice way like making money online.

i had my first computer when i was 11 years old (about 10 years ago). At that time when i first saw the computer only one thought came to my mind and that was games. I was quite a game addict. I can still remember playing games like Mario or Lotus or NFS and so on. But however i was not that computer literate and my parents trained me how to use it which seemed difficult for me. We also learnt it at school. Apart from games,i also used to draw things on paint and i enjoyed looking at the pictures in clipart.
