I have finally retired! My disability is up enough with the cost of living raise this year that I can pay my bills without needing the extra income from a job that had me very stressed out. Sure I won't have as much money as I had before. But I will have other necessary benefits that I couldn't get because I made too much money on the job, like medical services I could afford. Anyway, I am now retired and very excited to be able to spend time doing things I love to do but have either not had time to do or was just too tired to do.

Cool! We don't have such luxurious retirement settlements here in the Philippines. The person would have to invest his earnings on something while he was still working so that by the time he's ready to retire, he'd have enough for himself. It's a tough world out here :) I'm happy you're enjoying the fruits of your labor! Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Well, technically this is not a retirement settlement. I am on disability. Pretty much forced by health into retirement. But I am okay with that.

Although it is very tempting to retire, especially when you have enough money althrought your life, I would still continue to work. But I'll work for myself and not be an employee. What I mean is I would only retire when I've already put up my own business and my family is already getting more than enough.

yes being retired can be good, I know a lot of people dread it but it can be a good time in your life, I think it is a shame that retirement age is at a very high age bracket for so many people, people shouldn't have to work until such an age as some people never reach it anyway, it can be a time for reflection and a time to sit back and enjoy.

It is good that you are now financially able to retire fully. I hope you get to do all of the things that you desire to do. I imagine, it is a good feeling to be able to be stress free from a job, but still able to maintain your livelyhood. Enjoy your free time, and I wish you the best.
