Any remedies for migraines?

Lately I seem to be getting more migraines then usual. I usally take a couple Tylenol when I get a migraine but that doesn't always help. I went to the doctor's yesterday and she recommended a prescription for migraines or I can take Aleve. I'd love to find some home remedies to treat migraines if anyone knows of any.

This is probably going to sound crazy, but I find drinking water when I feel a headache coming on works for me. It increases the oxygen in your blood which is supposed to open your cappilaries and reduce headaches. I also lie down in a dark room for about an hour. This works for me.

I usally take advil or alive for mine unless they get really bad and then I will take the medicine I got from my doctor. Or a migrine pill.

In the past year or two, I've experienced more migraines than ever. I've talked it over with my doctor and she suggested that I try to put off using a prescription for as long as I can find relief in other methods. I admit that sometimes the only thing I can do is sleep off a migraine but the one over-the-counter product that is also working well for me is Advil Liqui-Gels for migraines. I don't have much success with over-the-counter medications of any kind but, for migraines, these work really effectively for me and in a very short amount of time. I take two as soon as I feel the migraine coming on and continue with the dosage, as recommended on the bottle, until it's completely gone. If possible, I do sleep too but these Advils have helped trememdously in situations where I've either not been at home when the migraine hit or I simply can't go to sleep at that time. I wish you luck in finding home remedies because I know how miserable migraines can be! Be well! :)

I am very sorry to hear that. I am not sure if they have medications for that, that really works. I hope someone here knows.

I seen once on a show that you take lemons cut and then put them on your forehead and hold them on there with a hankerchief for a while and your migraine should go away. I don't know if this really works, but they did try it with one of the audience members and he claimed it worked for him.
