I'm a lefty, what are you? Do you believe left-handed people are more creative, artistic, and smarter, etc.? Or is it just the person?

Maybe we were just told we were more creative so we didn't feel odd? LOL.

I think some of them are. my son is lefthanded and I would say that he definetly has some of those characteristics. I guess that he is Really a true lefthander. My father was a lefthander but his parents turned him into being right handed when he was a baby because i think that is what they did in those days.

They did, even with me, though I was born in the mid 60's, my parents and teachers didn't have the tools to teach me, so I only use my left hand for eating, writing and playing pool!

I'm left handed and so was my father. My sister is right handed and she was always considered the "gifted" person in our family. She played multiple instruments, and was a fantastic illustrator. I wish she had put these talents to use in a career, but that's another story. My father was a genius by his own right, but he also wasted his talents. I'm not sure if either of these traits have anything to do with which hand they wrote with, but more with their personality.

I'm the only one that is left handed in my family. None of my children are either. I've always been the odd ball!

I am both. My stronger hand is my right hand and I think it is more how you apply yourself and not which hand you use. Enviornment has factors as do family lifestyles. Ainge

I am not left handed, and I make comments all the time how my left hand/arm is just there for looks....since I cant do anything with it... LMAO I never heard about them being more creative or anything, personally I believe it is just and individual thing, but then again I dont know many left handers...sorry...LOL this is a fun discussion...lol

That is funny that you don't feel like you need your left hand/arm! Do you type with just one hand?? ;) This has turned into a fun discussion!

that's the first time i've heard that left-handed's are more creative. Well, I really don't think so. If I'm not mistaken what makes people left-handed is that part of their left side of the brain are more active than the right. That didn't count to the creativeness of someone. Being creative, artistic, or smarter depends on a whole lot more, things like your genes, your education, and so forth. I'm an artist but I'm right-handed. So, I guess, it's just the person.

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but it's actually said that left-handed people use the RIGHT side of their brain. Looking back through history, many of the great artists and composers, etc., were left handed. Also a lot of the U.S. Presidents, as well.

this got me interested. So, I researched it. pardon me then, there's this article I read that hand dominance is not really directly related to brain dominance. Here's the link: http://painting.about.com/od/rightleftbrain/a/Right_Brain.htm and I stand by really with what I think, that being right- or left-handed doesn't affect one's creativeness or being smart or anything like that unless there's a concrete evidence to prove that. what I think is a person talent or intelligence comes from within him, his personality and mentality, not from what hand he uses for writing.

I am right handed. I thin creativity depends on the person.

i'm right handed and i think that how artistic, creative and smart a person is, is entirely dependent on the person because i know left handed people who are not very artistic or creative and i also know right handed people who are so i think it depends entirely on the person

I am a right handed person only. I just think that the lefty also is just a person. I can't say too good things because I am a righty. My Cousin is a left handed person. She is a little girl only. I think she is some 10 years old. Till now I have not seen any special talents. Only from her I can make a conclusion. So in the future if I see any special talents in her I may accept that left handed people are smarter. Lol. Till then they are just a normal person for me. Happy mylotting.

Im a righty. I believe that it's in the person when it comes to being smart or creative; etc. It's all in what you put your mind to. I know some people are very smart and creative and they are a righty. But I also know some people who are a lefty and can do just as much as the one who is a right handed person. There are also those out there with the ability to write amazingly with both their hands. I just think it show the uniquness of a person not how smart or artistic; etc.

I am right handed and I know a lot of left handed people. I don't believe either makes you smarter or more creative. I know many righties that out do lefties in those areas. I also know a lot of lefties are very smart. So I wouldn't say it has anything to do with what hand you write with.
