If/ When the end of the world comes is it going to be because of something humans have done to the planet or the surrounding planets? Or will it be something else (asteroid etc)? Will there be a super ice age that will wipeout all life on the planet? will we be wiped out by aliens?

The universe cannot last forever because the energy involved in its creation is fixed. After a certain time the present universe as we know it will stop expanding, and starts collapsing. Everything will break up. Earth will initially be affected by changes in gravitational and magnetic forces. There could also be effects from other rays. As to how the end will be we can only surmise based on available facts. The other version is the coming of the Ice Age after global warming. Global warming itself which mankind is partly responsible for brings changes to the weather patterns affecting crop production. An asteroid is on its way to earth. Its trajectory will not hit earth but its gravitational pull and dust will affect the weather. read about it in an article around the nid 80s, so I am umable to give the link if there is any. I beieve this news was the reason for the making of the film 'Armageddon'. all the best, rosdimy

Most probably not We are too busy squabbling and fighting with each other instead of keeping aside our differences and face our common problem together.

Do you think human kind will survive, either by developing technology enough to be able to send an Ark to start again on another planet, Or to have found a way of preventing the sun from burning out? ( i assume thats the energy your refer too?) Or maybe creating something that can replace the sun?

True true, we do seem more intent of destroying life than preserving it. I am still hopeful that somewhere someone is making great progress on some super invention to save us all.

That is an interesting question and one I hope we never have to deal with but I think man itself will probably be the cause, with all this fighting going on it is very scary the power some of these people really have and if one day they get angry enough to use the things they have....

I also pray i am not here when that time comes, Like you say one man and "THE BUTTON" could end it everything for all of us.

Hi smurfuk, That is an interesting question and you will probably get some different answers. None of us knows that of course but the planet could be around for another 2 to 3 billion years. We have the ability to destroy civilization as we know it but not the planet itself, I guess there is always a chance that something outside of the earth could destroy it. As for Aliens, I hope that anyone advanced enough to travel here from another planet will also have seen that fighting is not the way to live. Who knows, we might even learn that someday. Blessings.

Maybe the planet and mankind will reach the end of time and never be wiped out, i suppose none of our generation will ever find out (well i hope not). I know its a 100% theoretical question, its just one that buzzed around in my head while watching a documentary on polar bears and how they are losing there habitat. Made me think how fragile we are and the planet as a whole is. One stray boulder from space that the scientist have missed.........

Sometimes, somethings already feel like the end of the world. "A joke in between." I have no idea. I think maybe there will be no more supplies. The earth with not have people anymore. But I don't think the earth itself will end. Like the Dino's, where did they go? I think that will happen to us too. And I believe we humans have caused this ourselves. Of course I don't know for sure, but it is a possibility?? { Take care.

Yes, it is a scary thought. Maybe the aliens will rescue us before it gets to that? Never now. Take care.

I never thought of the earth running out of resources before, good point. What if we have nowhere that can grow crops? what if we have not advanced enough in our usage of renewable/alternative (solar/wind etc) fuels by the time our fossil fuels run out, will we be able to keep our hospitals, food production going without enough power?

I think we will cause the end of the world humans. I think that some county will launch some nukes and blow us all up or the sun will blow up but we could get a big asteroid to hit us which seems more likely in our life time then the sun blowing up since I doubt that will happen any time soon.

what makes you doubt it will not be anytime soon? maybe "The Man" is just keeping it from us all....

I haven't really thought about this much. All I can say is that I hope I'm long gone by the time it happens!

i know it seems silly but if you could have a bet on how it was all going to end where would you put your money?( i know if the world ends the money you would win would be useless lol)
