I personally feel that as a human being it is my place to help those less fortunate then me. I have found myself in a humble predicament where I myself hav needed a helping hand. Do you like to give to the homeless or do you just pass them by and ignore them?

To give some to the poor is a good deed. But, to lend a hand is much better. Teach the person how to catch fish and it is more helpful rather than to give him fish. I grew up in a society with so many poor people and that includes me. It is very hard to survive in a community where people are almost all needy. But, we survived. It takes a lot of hard work to get out of poverty.

I give of myself in any way I can to anybody that needs it, it is not just the homeless in life that need help, I help them if I can, I am a shoulder to lean on for a person how has problems, I produce a free ezine and share my stories with the world, when I wasn't disabled I volunteered at many many places, I also sponsored a child in africa once when I had more money

My ex-husband always went into a McDonald's drive-thru or something and then went back and gave the person a bag of food and a drink. That's one of the reasons I loved him. I try to smile and greet them, when I lived in Phoenix and had to go downtown I would carry snacks and maybe some little toys for the children. Here, I don't see homeless people. I know they are here but they aren't in my neighborhood or downtown. I would say hello, though, if I saw one. I've been there before, too, and like you I can't ignore them.

I try to help as I can, either monetarily, or by helping at a food pantry, because everyone of us may be in the homeless situation, more so nowadays. I used to help at an Inner City Food Pantry/Shelter, and it was rewarding just to help out another fellow human being.

i had a friend that loved to mess with the homeless when we were younger and he probably now knows he was sick in the head. my brother is in a homeless shelter because he and his wife aren't that well versed in finances. sometimes its not all about money but circumstance. some people get into trouble with other things and then become homeless. if its no real housing where you are you can become homeless, its nothing to laugh at. i volunteered before and it was the best thing i felt i did in my life so far. it was to help kids realize a dream with performing arts. i want to help the homeless and volunteer when i get myself better situated. i also want to build a better homeless shelter and better homeless shelter housing because right now its terrible across the board. some people never understand until its them on the other end. i don't laugh at it, i don't look down on the homeless but want to help more than anything.
