I'm positive

People accuse me of being positive like it's something bad or I'm not thinking quite right. I don't understand this, I feel you can choose to be negative or positive in this life and I made up my mind that being positive is a lot more fun then being negative. That doesn't mean I don't know that things can be bad, but I've found if I really look for the lesson and concentrate on that I will get something positive out of everything. Each of us has this choice. What do you do?

Gosh do I hear you Pat. I have a 'friend' who made an issue of the fact that I treat all the people who respond to my discussions with 'too much of a positive' attitude and when they respond in kind, my friend said they were 'sickly sweet' and that made them and me phony. I nearly fell over. I still can't get over it. It is my firm belief that we are here to help each other, and if being nice and giving positive feedback and finding the silver linings all the time makes us phony, then to hell with 'reality'. I'd rather spread some love and laughter than constantly be on the outs with people because I looked for the negative in them rather than the positive.

i too consider myself a positive person.I always try to see things on the bright side.Altough it's not always this black and white, simple kind of thing.I think everyone has the right to choose to be positive or negative and we should not judge if a person is negative (altough i agree with you when you say it's better being positive then negative). In reality, there is no such as "better" for positive/negative,i think it depends on the person, and what may not work for you, may work for me.I say, when a person feels down, support her, but still respect her/his feelings and if she/he wants to stay away or alone(even if she's thinking negatively)you just have to respect that.BE positive but don't push it, let things become positive for you!

I know what you mean. Misery loves company. I try to be positive, this in turns makes positive things happen to me. Then you get around somebody that is not positive and they will suck the positive out of you. Be careful! Stay positive!

Two thumbs way up for you savypat!!! I agree with you 200% - I am exactly the same way. I made up my mind long ago to be positive ... no matter what!! It is a choice that we each have. When I saw "The Secret" ... I was like, "WOW!!!" It just confirmed what I already knew inside about generating positive energy into the atmosphere being such a WONDERFUL force that causes goodness, blessings, etc. to come to those who are positive. I love being such a positive person, it's contagious and people are so drawn to it. The charisma is awesome!! In this world that we live in today, so much positivity is needed everywhere. I enjoy the FUN it brings me too savypat!! Let's keep on being positive!!! :)

Well I have found that when things are very bad it takes time to see the positive, one needs to step back a little. But the more you look for it the faster you'll find it. Keep it up

I'm usually more negative although I think it has to do with the people around me in my life right now (if I had more positive friends, I'm sure I'd come back over to the "light side"). Being positive is amazing. It's like choosing optimism over pessimism - and I think choosing to put your life in a positive light will make it much more enjoyable. It sounds like you definitely don't dwell on the past, but instead learn from it. Everyone should do this! :)

Well we all have choices, I live with the most negative person I ever met, So times I think he does it just to bug me, but he's been doing it so long, it's become his habit. I feel sorry for him but I will not let that determine how I live my life. I'm a fighter so I guess this gives me somewhere to put that energy. Don't cop out and let your surroundings influence how you live your life. Hang in there. Thanks

I think it's great that you think positively! I also try to be positive as much as possible. It's not always easy to do, but when things don't go quite right, I'd much rather try to look at the bright side, or see that there may be a good reason behind something happening. If something really crazy happens to me, then I try to just tell myself that it will make for an interesting or funny story to tell later on! I think that if we choose to be positive, then we'll be much happier in life! Focusing on the negative aspects just makes everyone miserable!

Hey pat! I don't see anything wrong with your outlook! I wish that I could be more like you are. I tend to look at things more negatively. I am trying to fix that though. But, after looking at things from a negative point of view for so many years it is really hard to change. It is alot better and definitely healthier to be able to look at things from a more positive point of view. So don't listen to anyone trying to tell you different!

Keep working on it, I think it's part of growing, many of us grow up negative as children, How many 2 year old have learn one main word, NO, why can't we raise them to say yes instead. It's because we say no from the time they are small babies, we do that to protect them, with a little more thought and less just reaction we could give them a yes instead.

I think you are completely right. but being positive is not always easy. To tell the truth is quite difficult so I admire you for that. I try to be positive as much as I can but sometimes things are so difficult that makes it hard to think positive even though I try hard.

Haven't you found that most things have at least two sides, all you have to do is get in the habit of seeing the positive and making that choice. All new habits are difficult to learn at first. Hang in there.

We all need to think positively to get through life, otherwise we'll just become more and more depressed. I really believe in the Law of Attraction where life supplies what we expect because we are thinking about it. If you think you are going to lose your job, you will. If you can visualise your life differently, that will come to you in time. Congratulations on being positive.

I think people who are negative are just afraid of being hurt. I used to be very pessimistic and thought that optimists are really ignorant... but I was SO wrong.. now I concluded that there are three types of people, the ignorant, pessimists, and optimists. I've been in all three stages and I am at my best when I am an optimist. It is definitely a choice.

Ya you are right. Each of us have the choice of being positive or negative. Its universally agreed that positive attitude will always lead you to success and for the happiness and satisfaction in ones life one must have an postivie attitude or think postively. It is said that dealing with a problem positively wil help u understand the problem much more better and wil help solving the problem as soon as possible. And it is said that if a person is a positive thinker then is a positive energy created in him which wil make him believe in his goals and wishes and that positive energy wil provoke him to work towards the happiness and satisfaction lead with success in his life. Even i am a positive thinker, when i share my views on any discussion, often people think that i am very imaginative to decide so. They say positive thinking is only expecting something which is not there. But i say no its not that, postive thinking is something which wil make us to work towards something which we to have in our life, positive thinking is something which solves the problems around us with an ease, it helps us to gain confidence in our lives. I always admire positive thinking and positive thinkers. Only such people can handle their live tactfully and move on with happpiness and satisfaction. happy mylotting:)

If you can be positive about most things then that is good, being positive makes things happen I think, putting it out into the universe so to speak, being negative is very depressive I think. it is good to be like you.

We can be positive yet still firmly grounded in reality savypat! I say phooey to the naysayers and let them wallow in their own pessismism and misery. We have a far better chance of happiness, optimism and positivity in our lives if we SEEK it at every opportunity! The Law of Attraction makes it so. Good for you and never let go of this mindset for it will serve you well throughout life! "I promise myself to look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true!" Christian D. This is a problem here with me, too. Only, whenever I'm positive, people accuse me of being fake. It bothers me because I'm not a "fake" person.

I think I'm a petty positive person, but I'm also a realist, theres nothing wrong with being a positive, but for me I feel that there is different kinds of positivity thinking for example theres blind positivity and theres the realistic kind, and I think that being realistically positive is great but there are some people that are blindly positive in a way that can be unhealthy I have known people that are positive in such a way that when things are not going well for them or when things are obviously not happening in the way there positive thinking thought it would be, they brake down, and choose to only view things the way they want them to be and not as they truly are, so when it comes to being positive about life I think its good as long as were realistic about things as well.

I'm with you! Although we all have bad days and we all need to vent once in a while, looking at things in a positive way is so much better for our state of mind. You keep on being positive and don't worry about what others say or think. :-)

I am always positive, something goes wrong I would keep on going pick up where I left off my friends do not understand. I tell my daughter always think positive. Have you ever heard "you are what you say", well it's a choice you make.
