when you make or even order a pizza do you prefer the toppings on the cheese or under the cheese? I always lay my toppings (veggies and meat) down over the sauce before I scatter the cheese on top but I noticed when my dd got a pizza from the pizzaria the other day everthing was on top of the cheese.... they probably do that so we can see all the toppings?

I like mine under the cheese....I like the cheese to get a nice golden brown...I ordered one last week to take to my son's. My granddaughter is lactose intolerant so I ordered it with all the cheese on the side...well they put cheese on the crust first...then more on top....that' probably why I like their pizza..

i have been a crew member for pizza hut and the way we do it is to put the sauce, put in a layer of mozarella cheese then the toppings then finally another layer of mozarella cheese. remember, to place your toppings away from the center and not towards the center because when you slice it triangularly , the cent has the least space for the toppings.

ah, like the poster above suggested... reckon I will start doing it this way then... I like the cheese layer on top because it keeps the veggies from crisping and holds everything in nicely :) great advice about the center!

HI Modesta!!!! miss me?? lol I love cheese and if I make a pizza at home I put cheese under AND over the toppings. that way I get plenty I think you may be right about them wanting you too see the toppings, but also maybe they make up a lot of cheese pizzas and then add the toppings you ordered over the cheese so they can make more, faster. Who knows...but as long as it has plenty of both... I am gonna be happy no matter where they put the cheese.

it doesn't matter to me,but if it's something that might roll off (like sausage) it probably would be better under the cheese.although my cat claims dibs on any that drop anyway.

pets sure make cleanups easier! One thing that I really noticed after our dog passed away was all the drops on the floor...

oh. this is a question that I've actually never gave much thought about. come to think of it, the pizzaria I often visit have cheese below their toppings. But if I'm going to make a pizza of my liking, I'm definitely going to put the cheese ON TOP of those toppings! :D as for spaghetti, I'd put a layer of sauce over the spaghetti, put the cheese on top, then add more sauce on it (just so the cheese would melt beautifully in between both layers of sauce!)

mmm spaghetti, I like your idea of sandwiching the cheese between layers of sauce.

Oh goodness... I am a so called Cheese freak. When making a pizza... i put the crust down, add the sauce and then sprinkle on some cheese over the sause, put the meat and other toppings on, then add alot of cheese lol.... When ordering a pizza, I always ask for extra cheese on top because I love it... My husband is not so much of a cheese freak as I am so he sometimes doesn't like as much as I do on his.

Oh heavens...cheese on top...please! It keeps the pizza all nice and juicy. That's how mine are anyway. I put down the sauce, then the meat, then onion, tomato, mushrooms, scatter some capsicum if I have it then I drizzle a bit more sauce around, not too much then I pile on the cheese. I brown the cheese and it holds everything underneath together....that's the theory anyway...lol.

I've never seen it on top of the cheese...I've always had them under the cheese and I like it that way. I think it would look kind of weird to have them all on top LOL ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

It could be why they do it, to see the toppings. I never really thought about it before. I prefer the toppings on top of the cheese. That's how a real pizza is supposed to look, at least from where I'm from.

I always put the toppings on top of the cheese. Sometimes I will add a little extra cheese on top of the toppings too. Whenever I order pizza the toppings are on top of the cheese too.

On top is the traditional way. And it is how we do it when we make pizza at home. It gives my daughter a outline. Crust, sauce, cheese, other toppings. Sometimes cheese gets sprinkled again on top. THat gives you double cheesy-ness!

I love pizza. I am sorry to say the pizza now a days is definitley missing something. When I was younger I can remember how delicious the pizza was. I used to love going to those small restaurants or bars and get the bar pizza. I also love Papa Ginos. I can still taste it in my mind. Now everything has changed. People use ingredients that are cheaper and last longer. Rather than using the ingredients that may cost more but make it soooooo good. I do occasionally eat a slice that is good. Nothing like when I was a kid. dl

Even when I make a pizza at home the toppings are on top of the cheese. I think I may have laid them under in the past, but very rarely. I think I've had pizza with a few pepperoni's under the cheese as well as on top of the cheese, but I don't think I've seen that in a while. Mostly my fiance and I just have cheese pizza with no extra toppings. He's not a fan of pepperoni's and I'm not a fan of green pepper and onion, lol.

i'm a cheese person. So i don't mind cheese on top or below. As long as there is cheese. I'm happy. But when i'm baking my own pizza, i'd spread the sauce on the dough. Den sprinkle cheese before laying my ingredients. This is to "stick" the ingredients tot he dough. And after that i'd sprinkle more cheese on top. All in the name of sticking the ingredients on the dough.
