The two dollar bill really did not last long. How many of you saved one and still have in your possession? I did keep one, just for a souvenir. Do you have one and why did you hold on to it?

Yes, I have a few that I've saved over the years, and I've given one to each of my children so they can save them. As far as I can recall, I've never spent one - I think I've kept every one I've ever come across. I guess I was keeping them just because they were somewhat uncommon and seemed special. I don't remember anymore where I got them though.

At first everyone was excited about them, but obviously they did not work out, just like the Susan B anthony dollar.

Yes, I remember the $2 bill. My husband was the one that had one last, but he ended up spending it on something. It's too bad as I would have liked to have kept it as a souvenir.

I have one that I keep because it was a gift from a friend of my grandmother's when I was a little kid. At the time I thought it was really awesome, because I'd never seen one before. I still have it because he was a neat old guy and it's a reminded or him. However, I actually see two dollar bills every day at work, so by themselves they don't seem that special to me anymore. I'm a bank teller, and most of the time when businesses get one in, they bring it to the bank before there isn't really a space in their cash drawers for them, and they mess up money counts a lot. I have a few customers who will come to the bank specifically looking for $2 bills, because they enjoy giving them as tips and such.

The movie theater by where we just moved from gave you brand new crisp $2 bills as your change when you paid cash for your movie ticket, so I guess they still make them. I think my son has one still. He has $36 in what he calls special money. It is Susan B Anthony dollars, Sacajawea Dollars, Silver Dollars, Half dollars, and a few of the new gold dollars.
