living in south africa and i am ashamed to say that here we can not afford to drink tap water. we have this programme "carte blanche" which brings us the latest news on government issues. last night they had this discussion with our minister of water afairs, according to her the tap water in south africa is safe to drink, but carte blance interviewed engineers and scientists and according to them, afetr doing some test on our tap water and water in our rivers and dams, they found bacteria and things that could cause cancer, liver problems etc. we spent alot of money in our houshold to buy bottled water.

If i cannot drink tap water in my country.I will use bottled water over here.Once there was a big flood near my place in the rainy season after the water went down we still did not have water in the tap. When the water came back.It was all infected. We had to drink bottled water that time.

There's no confirmed study showing the causes of cancer, so perhaps they were mistaken. Anyhow, if you want to be safe, then you can't risk your family in exchange for lower water costs, it's a necessity. But you know what, if most of the people in your community is drinking the tap water, then perhaps it indeed is already safe. You know how Americans and Europeans are so afraid of minute sickness or disease, to the point that their anti-bodies aren't functioning very well. Here in my city, there are those who truly drink bottled water, we also have one, even if it's always been said that our place is one of the places with the best water in the world. It's about preference. You could do your personal water testing, you can submit a sample in your laboratory (clinical laboratory) then let them confirm if they see bacteria or something in that water.
