There just isn't enough money to do all the things we really once enjoyed doing. We hardly ever go out anymore and we will only rent the $1 movies from the store. The economy is so tight right now I'm surprised the movie theaters are still in business.

in our country, a lot of movie houses have closed shop. all the big ones are now gone. what has been thriving are those which are located at the malls. these are small theaters only. the kind which can accommodate only so much. once my son and i was so interested to see a cartoon movie which was such a big hit. i was surprised to see how small the movie theaters now are. i can see with one sweep, all the seats therein from the first to the last one.

I have not been to the movies in so long that I do not miss it at all. It has become so expensive it is not worth going. I also like the fact that if I watch movies at home then I can pause to go to the washroom or for any reason. Also I can have any snacks that I want and do not have to pay an insane amount of money for them.

I haven't been to the movies in 10 years or so, I don't even know how much they cost here. I know I rather get a movie and watch it at home on DVD eat ,drink and have Popcorn all for under $10. Plus the seats are more comfy at home.

I don't go to see a movie in the theater until it gets to our $3 theater and I don't do that very often either. I think the prices are to high. I went to the movies more when I was single than now. I prefer to rent them sometimes because you can watch them at home more comfortably.

I don't go to see movies now on cinema. I just purchase or rent movies and watch it over my dvd. In that way I can relax and have my own snacks that I want

I often go to a movie theater with my wife and our 5 year old daughter. Sometimes I go with my wife, and sometimes with my daughter. It's a sort of a date and bonding. I usually date my 5 yr old daughter when she gets a high grade in school or when she perfects a quiz or when she sleeps early at night. It's a sort of giving her a reward or recognizing her good works to get her morre motovated.

I'm the same way, don't go as much because of the prices and I might be going even less now that I can watch them for free. There's a website, http://www2.movies-on-demand.tv. Not only can you watch current movies like slumdog millionaire, but you can watch older ones like pulp fiction. Two things, You should have firefox or a good pop-up blocker because they do havepopups. Didn't get any viruses. Another thing, it's a square screen, not wide. But in today's economy and me with no job, I'll take it!

no, zulito. the members of my entire household no longer to the movies anymore. aside from the admission prices already much too high, it also takes so much time to be out of the house to do that. we prefer to spend our free hours at home. thus, we can just watch movies using the computer or the home video system. whichever we choose, it will mean that we have to buy a dvd copy of the movie which we are interested to see. it may not be as good as seen on the big screen but, what's important is we are able to view the movie just the same.

Where I live we have "cheap Tuesdays" in which the price of movies is lowered from $13 dollars to $10. This doesn't seem like a big amount but its enough to get the people flocking. I have a special cinema-specific card which gets me in for $7 on Tuesdays and I use this to my advantage. I have just gotten out of school last year but for all of last year me and my mates would go to the movies after school or (shh) during. We would do this up to 3 times a week, depending on what movies were showing. Now that I am out of school I don't go to the movies even half as often and movie-going has fallen by the wayside (this is also due to the fact that there are very few movies in the cinemas that I like the look of atm). However, this may set to change again as I am going to Melbourne (I live in Western Australia) for a month to "housesit" for my Auntie with my girlfriend. There is a movie cinema ten minutes down the road and a bunch of exciting new movies coming out so I think I will be spending a lot more time there :)

I have never really went to the movies. I come from a larger family where money was tight, so we rarely ever got to go to the movies. So I guess I still go about the same as I used. My sister and I got movie theater gift certificates for Christmas and haven't yet used them. Not only are movies so expensive, but for us the gas money to go to the theater is quite a bit. The theater we have the certificates for is quite a long ways from our house.

We have a lot of "discount theaters" in my area - where you can see older movies (that are going to be on DVD in a month or two) at the theater for $2-$3 bucks. I love these ones! I only go to real theaters if it's a matinee (a day-time showing where they reduce the cost) or if I can use my student ID for a discount. Call me cheap, but I honestly don't think seeing a movie is worth what they charge for it (usually $10). :(
