He scared me!

I was in the shower awhile ago, and there was a knock on the door. It was one of my kids informing me the toddler needed to use the potty, he's currently potty training. So I unlocked the door, let the 2 kids in so the older could help the younger up onto the toilet, then went back to my showering. I peeked out of the curtain a few times to see if the little one was done yet, because I'd have to relock the door after he left the room, the door won't shut on it's own, and it gets cold with the door open. So finally I peeked out and could see that my toddler was outside the bathroom and someone was helping him get his pants back on, I assumed the same child helping him go to the bathroom. I began to close the door, but someone on the other side was pushing it back open. At first I thought it was one of the kids, nobody else was at home at the time. Hubby was off to work and it was me and the kids. So I pushed a little harder on the door, and said "What are you doing?" There was no answer, but then I saw a man coming into the room! It was my husband! It scared me because I wasn't expecting him to be home, but he was out on the road for his job and decided to stop home for a bite to eat. Has something unexpected ever scared you?

I can only imagine how that felt!!! Especially when you are showering and you see a man, OMG...I would have freaked out and probably wet the floor. What I want to know is how did you react towards your husband? Even though it wasn't his fault sometimes it is hard not to be mad, even if momentarily. Well, I remember right after we had moved into our house and my husband was working his evening shift, something like that happening. We had only lived here a week or so. Not long enough to even know the little noises your own house makes. Plus, we didn't have much furniture and the house is tiled so every noise is amplified. It was the first night shift he worked since we had moved in so I really didn't know when to expect him home. I didn't know that the next morning was garbage pick up. When he got home he went the side of the house to get the garbage and recycle. All of a sudden the dog starts going crazy, barking, running from room to room because she heard him out there. Of course, I went to each of the kids rooms to make sure no one was breaking in. As soon as my husband walked in the door and I saw it was him, I instantly started crying. I really thought someone (other than him) was outside the house. That was over 5 years ago. He has called every night he has worked the late shift since then to let me know he is on his way home.

LOL, I can see that happening. Back in December my husband's job moved closer to our home. Actually he was transferred to a closer store. So he stops home frequently now, and I never know when he's going to. It's usually when he's out on the road visiting customers (he's basically the repo guy for a rent to own store). Sometimes it does scare me a little, because I hear the front door open, and nobody is here but me and the little kids, so I always freak out wondering who's coming in my house, but it's just him. Of course yesterday I never heard him come in, he just pushed the bathroom door open on me. Once I saw it was him I relaxed instantly, so it wasn't a huge deal.
