Can You Transfer a YouTube Account?

I started an account for our lab class at school, and in a few weeks the class will be over. I wanted to transfer the account to someone else so that they can add more videos, update things, answer questions, etc. People have created accounts before for these types of classes and they usually just take down the account at the end. But I really want to be nice and leave it up so someone else doesn't have to start fresh. Is there a way to do that?

You can give the raw video files to someone else and they can upload them to a different account... but you cannot transfer the video already up and keep the views, comments, and favorites. Sorry.

It seems odd that you can't transfer the account to a different email address though. I think there is some way to do it. Because people change their email address all the time, so there has to be a way to change that. I want to keep the account name the same. I don't care about the comments and stuff, but I have no way to send the files to someone else. I just want them to be able to use their email and log in to this account. I'm sure there is a way to do it, just haven't figured it out yet.

Oh cool! You can. I just found it. My Account Account Options Email Options I can change the email address linked to this account to the next person's email. Then they will have the same password and they can edit the videos, add to the account, etc. Yay! It's not too hard either. So now I posted it in case others are searching for how to do this and find this thread.

Oh... you didn't mention e-mail addresses in your original post! Sorry, I thought you meant transferring videos with views and comments intact.

Can't you just give them your account information to whomever you want to give it to? Like give them your user name and password? That or if you don't want them to know yours, you go into it and change it to something just out of the blue, such as your user name dkfufoieur and your password somewhat similiar. Then give that to them and they can go into it and change it to what ever they want. Or is the account more complicated than that?

I've given the username and password to others in my lab group. But to actually transfer the account I wanted it to go to someone else's email account as well, because otherwise I will get emails about the account and they won't (and soon I will not have a university email address). But luckily I figured it out, it wasn't too difficult to change an email to another person's email. And then the rest of the information can easily be changed from there.

It is by email and password, which I already gave to my group partners in the class. However, I'm not passing this account on to a friend, just the next random person who would like to take charge of it and who is taking this class. So I don't really want that person to have access to my email. I want it to be set up under their email. Plus my email account will soon no longer be valid when I graduate, so I can't continue to use that email anyway. It seems like there must be some way to change the email on it for that reason... sometimes email addresses change and then people would need to change it.

i really don't think so... or at least not an automated way... probably writing to admins(or similar) could help if you explain the situation

I will try writing to the admins. I'm betting they can do it because if you think about it, people change their email addresses all the time. All I really have to do is get them to change the email address that is linked to this account, and I don't really care if it still has my name attached to it. I want the account name to stay the same, I just need to change the email because soon that email will be gone.
