so the boring and every day ways to loose weight aren't working for me. i need to find some new ways. i am starting today by lunging every where i walk in the house. followed by stair sprints this after noon while my daughter naps. i can't stand in front of the tv and do a work out tape. and dieting has gone out the window since my boyfriend made me one foot tall chocolate letters that spell out I LOVE YOU. that is a ton of chocolate in the house!! i want to drop 20-30 pounds in about 6 months. HELP!

Sounds like you are on the right track. At the end of the day, it is all about burning more calories than you take in. While all that chocolate is around the house I'd say keep lunging. Hee

i'm a fat girl ,hah !In the long fight against the weight ,i find that there is only one efficient way to lose weight -to eat less ! Four months ago ,in November ,yes ,i started lose my weight at the beginning of November .I almost ate one banana one day ,and i sticked to it .Then two weeks later ,i lost about 15pounds ,but it was really a bitter journey for me .But i did it ! so ,if you want to lose weight ,maybe you could only eat breakfast and lunch .Remember breakfast is a vital part. Then you should not eat anything after about 5pm. Good luck to you and me !hah,we will be as slim as the Hollywood star !

Oh-oh... hose chocolates are not helping! Hehe! My friend, who by the way is a guy, is so conscious about his weight that he wants us to walk from work to the station were we ride! And let me tell you that is really a long walk, we often found ourselves walking at the most 30 minutes before we get to the station. i think it is also helping me because I notice my tummy getting smaller. hehe! -cherry

I think you need not feel everytime that you are dieting. You can add salads to your meal which will make you feel better. Also, you can talk to your friends on phone and walk during that time so it can be of dual use to you.

Before you begin exercising, try to look at the mirror and check ytour body. That way you can concentrate on body parts that needs toning. I do that, that make me love exercising more. I like go to the park and do brisk walking, its fun especially that more and more people are there playing around too. if you feel bored, try to have a break sometime, and write a food and exercise journal for you. You dont really need to exercise a lot, because our muscles needs rest too. Concentrate on aerobic, it will be fun for you doing the dance moves. Try hip hop abs video, its so fun. Dance and exercise combination, you wont get bored. Go and walk with your friends. Run in the park. Smell the roses outside your house and do stretching. It all helps. Happy mylotting!

I think that you are on the right track. Just add the additional exercise, but also make sure to limit the intake of calories. I have to have chocolate every day, so I eat less threwout the day and then treat myself to the chocolate for my reward.

I recommend to anyone that they steer clear of the pills and herbal remedies and supplements that are for sale everywhere - they promise quick weight loss but just drain your pocketbook and can harm your health. As someone else said, the best way to lose weight is to change your eating habits - not just temporarily, as the weight will just come back when you revert to your former habits - but a lifestyle change in your eating habits. On January 1, I started the Let's Do Lunch plan ( http://www.letsdolunch.com ) and have lost 15 pounds in that period of time. I love this plan because you do not go hungry and do not have cravings for the things that are unhealthy and cause you to gain weight.

Well, I used to be a fat girl wayback in highschool.. my guy classmates were teasing me everyday and that made me realize that it's time to cut down some pounds.. after graduation, i have enrolled myself to an aerobics class and hired a personal trainer.. I did all the things that my personal trainer asked me to do and yes after two months or so, i have seen a great change in me.. apart from exercising, dieting(eating the right kinds of foods), eating high fiber(oatmeal, wheat bread, etc), I did simple exercises at home, etc..

hello tracie well it sounds like that you have your day planned out exercise wise. and when the weather gets warm around here in Middle Tennessee, i plan on starting back up and doing my walking routine at least two to three times a week. i go walking at a nearby high school closeby to where that i live and walk around the track there. i feel lots better when that i do go for a daily walk versus when that i do not. and i wish you all of the luck in the world at loosing your extra weight. it sure is easy to put those extra pounds on, but it is very difficult to get them to drop off sometimes. take care and have a beautiful day today!

Losing weight has always been my concern. I feel it is not only a matter of diet or exercises. It has a lot to do with our mood, or at least indirectly with our mood. When I worked, or travelled, even if i ate a lot, but because of the quick pace of jobs and walking, I looked good. Now that retired, really need discipline to get myself going out to do exercises. For me, the only thing i enjoy is to walk regularly about one hour a day. But not seem to be effective. For more challenging exercises, I do not feel like doing for my heart, blood pressure, etc. I like chocolate too, but nowadays kept away from it, nor the fast food, which is too oily. Anyway, we need do something to make progress.

From my own personal experience I've found no matter how much you exercise, it wont make a difference unless you're eating right. That's not to say you can't enjoy that chocolate your boyfriend gave you because you can. Just balance it out with some carbs, some fruit, some vegetables and some dairy throughout the day. I'm not too large a guy, in my opinion, but back in november I was 200 pounts, right now I'm 175 and still losing. I run for a half hour a day, that's about the extent of my exercise, and I still eat junk food like chocolate, the occassional cookies, and even chips once or twice a week still. I just make sure I have enough of the fruits, vegetables, dairy and carbs to balance it out. As you can see, I haven't dramatically changed my lifestyle. The only thing I've really cut out all together is ice cream. It just seemed to be way too many calories to be worth it. This idea may not work for you though. I know everybody is different and it's important to find a plan that works for both you and your lifestyle. Once you do the most important thing is to stick with it. Even if you don't see results as quick as you'd like, they will begin to show. In my experience, sticking with it and consistancy is the biggest key to success.

I'm trying to lose 20 pounds as well. I've lost 15 pounds in the past month or so. I'm eating healthy which everyone knows is important, but I'm ALSO doing 60 - 90 minutes of cardio, 6 days a week. That's also a big key to losing weight. Go jogging or cycling and get that heart rate up. Don't stop until you're drenched in sweat. You'll definitely start losing wieght then. As far as eating goes rememeber to eat healthy foods instead of just starving yourself. If you starve yourself for a few days you'll lose a lot of weight but once you start eating again the weight will come back THREE-FOLD. I tell you this because I've already been there, done that with the "starvation diet". So when you're hungry - EAT! As long as the food is low in fat, sodium, cholesterol, etc. Best of luck!

Firstly, you can do anything that you want to do and anything that you emotionally support yourself during. So you need to ask yourself, are you prepared to put in the effort. Every time you want to eat something that is not as healthy for you as it should be (not colourful to look at) then tell yourself that a little bit is ok but do not go overboard. Do not deny yourself anything rather change the amounts that you are eating by half - keep doing this until you feel that it is at a healthy level for you. As in one family block of chocolate is NOT ok but one row is acceptable occasionally. Secondly it is not use doing exercise that you don't enjoy or that doesn't fit easily into your life. For me I have young children so I include them in my exercise most days. We turn on the tv and find the music channel and dance around non-stop until we can't move anymore - it is a lot of fun! Then three times a week I go walking with a friend of mine when the kids are all in bed and that serves a dual purpose - I have my time out, I walk where it is beautiful and afterwards I feel healthier. If you find loosing weight hard, make it easier for yourself by changing it from a negative thing to a positive thing that you enjoy. Oh and realise that we all make mistakes and that you can't be perfect, if you do something that is not good, rather than just scold yourself and punish yourself speak in a kind voice to yourself and tell yourself that it is ok to make a mistake but now you must learn from it and try your best once again to do the best thing to your body.
