I'll confess, I didn't know what it was until I read it. Man, does that not only sound tasty, but it sounds so dang fattening! I'll have to try it someday. I know this simple white saugsage recipie gravy thing that will be perfect. *Pleiades

It may be a French Canadian thing, but you'd never know it in Northern NY State. Many homestyle restaurants have Poutine on the menu. Esp. the NY border just south of Quebec. So I would not be one that doesn't know. Hope you can come down our way and check out the Poutine down here. Then you can give us an evaluation and tell us what you think of ours compared to yours. Take care

i'd love to. it's great how every different restaurant's poutines tast different. different cheeses and different gravy so all are different. usually all good still though

Learn something new every day lol. No, I've never heard of this before. After reading one of the other posters recipes she left, I must say it sounds ingriguing. I'm going to have to try that! I'm surprised I've never noticed this on a menu when I visit Canada (or maybe it was there and I just glossed over it not knowing what it was)

I never heard of it until they mentioned it on (I think) How I Met Your Mother. Honestly, I think it sounds kind of gross. Of course, maybe Canadians don't like the sound of chili cheese fries...
