It is said that Americans change their cell phones every 18 months. Since the first cellphone you bought how many times have you changed your cellphone? And have you ever thought of recycling your old cellphones. There are organizations that are in need of donated cellphones. One is an organization for domestic violence and another one that give them to the elderly so they can call 911 in an emergency. What do you do with your old cellphones?

Hey, I haven't really had an old cell phone, I still have the same on I have had for a long time. But if I were to get another phone, I would probably just sell the phone that I have now, rather than recycling it. The person who would buy it, would basically be like recycling anyway. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

My old cellphone was traded with a better one. Wish we had organizations like that where we can donate old cellphones for the elderly. But, we dont have that. And here in the philippines, a lot of snatchers for cellphones. Hays.. So frustrating.

I still have my old cellphone I bought 4 years ago. It's busted already so I cannot use it anymore, and when I had it checked by a professional technician, he told me that there's nothing he can do, my cellphone's no longer functional. So what I did was to keep it for awhile and I planned to look for another technician to fix it...but it never happen...I still have my old cellphone kept inside its old and dusty box.

thanks for the information. I'm still using my old cellphones. I have like 3 different numbers. so the 2 other old cellphones are still being used. I don't know what's with me, but I just feel like keeping them (the numbers and the cellphones) and I have no intentions of getting rid of them... geeez

My first cell phone is Nokia N70, which was stolen a year ago. I miss it very much for it is the first one to me. Then I had a life without a phone until my father bought a used one for me a month later. Now the one I am using is my third one,the former one has given to my mother.I will change for a new phone when I am able to earn the enough money to buy myself a new one.

Here we do not have any such arrangements for recycling our cellphones. I have a collection of old cell phones at home. Some of them have good games and my kids use them to play games. It is good to know that in your country the old phones are also very useful.

I put my cell phone away somewhere, when other cell phone doesn't work, I will use the old one. I don't change cell phone until it is no longer functioning. I am happy with the cell phone as long as it lets me call and answer and take pictures.

I've had about 4 or 5 cell phones in my life! Geez, that's a lot to me. I remember it was because of my ex since he loved new technology and always bought new ones for us. But I've donated a few or gave them away to family after I got new ones.

I used to collect the old cell phones as a child from my parents and held on to the ones I had used. After 9/11 I took "my collection" and donated them to a company that used them to help our soldiers stay in contact with thier Families back home. I don't know if they used all 23 of them , but I slept better knowing that at least one family stayed connected during the difficult times becuse I help.

In this area, cell phones that are brought to the police station will be provided to victims of domestic violence. They usually have someone on staff who can be sure your personal information has been removed before anyone else can get it. Each time I've dropped an old cell phone at the police station, I've been happy to know someone in need will have it. At the same time, I pray they'll never need it.

We have donated a lot of our old phones to The Jack & Jill Children's foundation. They recylce the old phones to rasise money for sick children. Some phones that are still in working order they will refurbish and send them on to third world countries.

yes i have changed my cellphone for about 5 or 6 times. THe old ones I always give it to people of my family or friendas that need it. Its not because of being materialist, its just that I never felt comfortable with the other cellphones, now I have a simple Sony w200i, and i really love it, I think I´ll keep it for a lot of years. Do you remember the first cellphones? that were amazingly big? theyre so funny right now.
