Do you see this when driving?

It annoys the heck out of me to see someone cut into a funeral procession. How much time out of your life can it take to wait until the whole thing passses? On the news this evening they reported a cop on a motorcycle was hit when some jerk in a truck ran into him while he was escorting a funeral procession. Why are people so callous? Is there really that little respect in the world?
Also, I can't believe how many people refuse to get out of the way when an ambulance or other emergency vehicle is on the road. I find this incredible! These are the same people who would be upset if they or someone they cared about was having an emergency.

I hate to see this kind of thing too, yet you see it so often. These are the same people who would bitterly complain if it was one of their family members in the hearse and it was their procession. I think it's rude, and you're so right, it's very disrespectful. Sure, some of the processions have many autos in it and are very long, but still, that is no excuse to disrespect somebody's final tribute to their loved one. That's terrible about that cop, hope he's ok and that fellow who couldn't wait got what he deserved!!

You are quite right that the same people committing these offenses are often the ones who would complain the loudest if they were personally affected by someone else's actions.

Oh it never annoys me. I don't know the family anyway. :) And sometimes processions take so long to finish. It's okay to have 5-10 cars there, but if it goes on for 20 or more cars, then that's really long. it takes up so much road space. I always give way to ambulances though and so far, I think most people do too. :)

Wow, I can't believe I never responded! I guess at the time it was because I agreed with you. Sorry about that, I forgot the discussion even existed until someone posted a new response. I think the situation may even be worse now.
