Given once chance to go back in time...

Any where in your past, which year will you go back to? Why would you want to go back to that time? What would you do differently if you had the chance to go back with the knowledge of what you are having now? For me, I would go back to the year 1990 where my buddies and I were toying with the idea of opening a comic shop. And we would work hard to gather the capital to get started on it via other means which I now discover is viable but never thought of then when I was a kid. And then move on to greater things like opening a stall then then upgrading it to a shop and later a department store! How about you?

I do like your question. I want to go back to 2002, which was the year I would go to university. If given a chance, I will choose major by myself but not listen to my dad. I hate my major and I think it's not even counted as a major. I want to be a lawyer. If I could go back, I would study hard in the university. After graduation, I hope I can work in Qingdao with my friends but not in Beijing far from them. They are only imaginations. Good luck!

Oh, that is also a good one to have. To go back to pursue a better dream. One that you want rather than what your parents envision you to be. So, if you are not a lawyer, what is your occupation now? What did you major in when you when to the University?

Yeah, your idea is actually working very well now.. Just look at comic collection and 'tian di' i guess they have stolen your idea ^_^ For myself, i will like to go back to 1998 when i was in secondary 3.. That was the time whereby i started on building muscle and become more physically active.. But too bad, i was not really serious at the time, and by time i got serious in whatever i'm doing now, it's a little too late.. If i can turn back time, i will have taken my chance seriously and maybe right now, i might be the fastest man in singapore for whatever distance in running.. lol =D

Yeah, that was about the time I wanted to go back to too! Cos that is where my energies is at its peak! And I felt I could have done so much more then! Be so much more couragous! Be so much more daring in my pursuits! That is why, I keep wishing for this one chance! TO go back to that time where I can do something a little different to get my path back towards my original dream!

If I can go back to my past,i wish it would be the time when i was born. Then everything is complete different from now.I would spend more time on study and even learn 3-4 other languages.I know i can still chase this dream now,but i have missed the best time to do it. There is never such things as "IF",i guess this word is invented for people who is not satisfy with their current situation. But there is positive sides.By asking ourselves "if ",we can learn to cherish the things we have had and be more clearly about what is important for us.

Hmm... if going back to make good on your opportunities to study, wouldn't going back to a time where you completed your basic grade school be better? Or even when you started grade school? You mean you want to be a wailing baby all over again and start over from the days you were in a diaper?

Ah yes... i can fully and truly understand where you are coming from. Some of my best days were spent with some of my buddies when we were so much younger! And those days are long gone! But I certainly wouldn't mind reliving them all over again!

I would certainly make those days better if I could! With all of us being so busy with our family and work, we hardly meet up anymore!

Wow, that is a really young age to get married. I don't even have a girlfriend when I was that age. I am sure you had your reasons to agree to marriage then. Wow... married at 16! And your parents agree to the union?

Do you mean, (the past)? or MY past? If you mean, (the past), well then I will go and kill Hitler when he was just starting out! If you mean (MY past), then it would have to be when I was in high school but this time I would STAY in school and complete my studies, get a part time job and go to collage!

ha ha ha ha ha... you got a point there. Yes... I mean "MY past" as in the past where you can make changes to to your own life. Hmm... that is a good thing to wanna do. To complete your studies to get better job. I think you can still do that if you want now. It is a matter of determination. But thanks anyways for sharing with me your thoughts.

I actually hear this question a lot in beauty pageants.^^ They say the best answer is to just say you wouldn't want to to go back in time since you wouldn't be in the position you are right now if you'd alter your past. That is if you really like the position you're into. Would it really have that domino effect when you alter the past like in the TV series heroes? For my answer, I think I would want to go back to last December. At that time, I went out with someone just because I pitied him and somehow I would want to know his thought process. If I haven't done that, I wouldn't have a hard time cleaning up the mess resulting from that right now. I guess I just want an easy way out right now.^^

Well, you can always see it as an easy way out to a problem. One where you can remake some decisions and not commit some of the mistakes you previously did. That is why, if I was given once chance... and I am not greedy... on chance to go back to the past with my current knowledge, I would have done some things a little differently cos I now know better! One chance is all I need. One chance!

I'd definitely go back to the year I graduated from college. I would have gotten a job right away instead of listening to my Dad about starting a business instead. Have never had any head for business and didn't want to do it besides. I wouldn't have lost my momentum and so much time on attempting something I didn't care to do anyway.

Well, at least you got some one who is willing to show you the ropes about doing a business. And after you try, you know it is not your cup of tea. For me, I went straight into a job and have been stuck there ever since. No one is willing to show me the ropes. AND me being who I am, haven't the faintest clue on where or how to get started!

Heh heh... now you got me all curious. Care to share what you missed in those years? And why you would want to go back to get it back? If it is not too personal, do share with us here.

if i would be given a chance i would go back to the time when my grandfather and i were eating together for the last time..i would tell him how much i love him and how lucky i am to be his granddaughter..i wasn't able to say those things to him when he was still with us.."wherever you are my dear lolo,,i love you"

Well, if you have always remembered him for who he is, what he has done, and what he has taught you, he never really left you. He has always been in there *points to your heart* and there *points to your head*. His legacy is living through you. And if you pass his teachings and his memories down to your kids, his legacy will live through them as well.

No i dont want to go into past. because i think how i lived my life uptill now it is best for me if i will go back and try again i will land up again inthe same situation. Ya some little changes may be there but gains and losses will be same as they are now. but sometime i wish i can ga ito future or just have a glimpse of it.

ha ha ha ha... the future is not set in stone. The past is. So going back to change your present would be a better choice as you get to know what not to do. The same cannot be said for knowing about the future. Cos you only get to see that particular window that you are sent to. The gap between your current present and that future window is missing. At least that is what I feel.

This is such a good question! For me, even though I do agree with the above comment that if you change your past then it changes who you are today, in this situation you know who and where you are today, and you are choosing to go back in time so you still have the same life experiences under your belt. Of course i'm assuming that time travel works a bit like in BTTF, so if you went back in time via a time machine, you would remember things you had done in the future. If it didnt work like that then time travel wouldnt be so great cos i'd probably end up doing all the same things and making all the same mistakes! So anyway in answer to the question i'd go back to last saturday and win the lottery, but you wouldt know that cos instead of posting on mylot, i'd be sunning myself on some exotic island!

ha ha ha ha ha... If I were to go back for lottery, I wouldn't go back to just last saturday loh! I would go all the way back to the age where it is legal for me to place bets loh! NO, I do not mean go back in a time machine. But go back in time as in clock reverses and we grow younger, but I do not forget the years that I have been who I am now, in the present. Then I can use that knowledge to do something better with that once chance to gbe a boy again!
