Hello my fellow mylotters, I am extremely glad today ( March 8th, 2009) because one of my colleagues sent me a book written by him as a gift. He is a retired teacher at the age of seventy two, who has been working together with me for twelve years long. He is so nice and kind as to send me one of the copies printed by China Culture Publishing House. This book of his has altogether 639 pages. It is a very thick one. I am going to read a few pages every day till I finish reading the whole book by him. Mr. Chen Diantao has been a very successful, respectful and professional teacher, teaching Chinese in the school. I admire his great learning and concentration in teaching as well as some other social issues. Retired as he is, he is still doing his best to serve the school and his students. Have you ever got something nice from your friends or colleagues, please? Are you crazy about the gift given to you by your friends or colleagues, please? To tell you the truth, I am crazy about every gift given to me by my friends, colleagues, students and family members and I value them a lot. Thank you all in advance for your nice responses. Take care and enjoy your life to the fullest. Love from williamjisir

What a nice gift from your friend. Did he sign the book for you? Yes, I am always very appreciative of any gift given to me by friends or family. A gift is a choice and not a requirement. A gift from a special friend means so much to me. I know they are thinking about me. I also return the favor of a gift to family and friends. I want them to feel as special as I did when receiving something from me. Have a great day, carolbee

Hello dear carolbee. What a nice idea of yours, which reminds me of the very important signature of his! He did not sign his name on the book sent to me as he asked my next-door office teacher to give it to me during my absence in my own office because I was teaching the whole morning, non-stop. I think that I am supposed to ask him for his signature on the very book that I value so much. I thank you so much for your prompt and nice response, my dear friend. Have a good day.

For a long time I was so sentimental about gifts that I never got rid of a single one of them even the ones I had no use for. I just put them all in a box and stored the box away. When I eventually moved, I donated the entire contents of the box to a thrift shop.A friend who came to help me pack things noticed that one of the things she gave me was in that box. I was mortified. Nowdays, I tend to get rid of gifts quickly that I can't use. I know people who re-gift but I wouldn't want to take that chance. With my luck I'd eventually give the gift back to the person who gave it to me.

I think that was a very lovely gift you got from your colleague, how very thoughtful and personal. I have to admit I've always appreciated receiving gifts from people, however small or large or cheap or expensive, it's the thought that counts and I appreciate the fact that someone even bothered to take the time to choose the gift, even if it's a gift voucher, I still appreciate that it cost money. I have to admit now though that my husband and I have so much stuff that we really don't have much room in our home for much else. We're having a 5th anniverary party later this month and we've clearly told everyone we've invited strictly no gifts please of any kind - we just want their company which will be gift enough for us. I know I'll be taking lots of photos as will several other friends and the memory of the party with our closest friends there will be the greatest gift for us :)

Entrepreneurship - "ENTREPRENEURSHIP" - theory, process, practice (ISBN 0 - 324 -25826 - 7)
Hello to you too, William. FIRST AND FOREMOST ~ I do respect and admire for anyone, who is able to write, print and publish their own writing articles. Their insights, efforts, discipline in writing, and of course for their precious time spending. AN HONORARY GIFT I will accept with my open hands for anything as "gift", especially, when the gift came from known person. More glad and proud, if their gift is a 'hand made' or 'own made' type of gift. Feeling honored, because I am one of the recipient in their gift's recipient's list. Sometimes it happened that, the given gift is not a material type of gift but it also in the form of "intangible" gift, which is presented in highly disciplinary and respectful manner through internet. GIFT DOES CARRIES MEMORABLE VALUE Normally, in our daily life it is a common practice among our community when we do talking about giving gift to any third party, there must be a great supportive element or factor for the wish to be true and through. What I can look into, is a kind of memorable value in it. Sincere or insincere of giving gift is not a prime objective but the motive of inter-connecting the past and future time to create the real great memory face value in that specific gift for both parties, between giver and taker. GIFT DOES CREATE NATURE LEARNING In reality, there are so many and various types of nature learning in one gift. It happens in both parties, actually. Where the giver will think about what type of gift that should be given to the taker(recipient). Somehow, the giver has to take little time to closely know the life nature of the taker. Same thing happens to the taker, once received, the taker will take little time to think about of why the gift was given and why that specific type of gift being given. MY CONCLUSION Gift does promote a faculty of mutual networking. Where, the mutual networking is much highly appreciated by both parties regardless of time factor, as its continuity of appreciation runs in both parties entire life. Like me, I was given a book by one twinning program college titled "ENTREPRENEURSHIP" - theory, process, practice (ISBN 0 - 324 -25826 - 7) for my small contribution. the book image

Yes William, have to share the "proof of quality response" to my referrals. They asked me on this issue. Not just that, I have promoted myLot at many sites now. Many outsiders found our discussions through search engines and our discipline in discipline is they key to success by means attractive for them to visit our profile page and they want to know more who we are. Many contacted me, they like it.

Ohhh! William, thank you so much for your rating and commenting my uploaded photo. It helps my extra earnings, actually, things which not many members know about it. Secondly, so sorry for my typo in my first comment, I meant for "Discipline in Writing" and not "discipline in discipline". OK ~ wish you health and wealth, your continued life success as well.

It has been a while since I get a gift from anyone in my life. Last time I got my gift was way back in 2005 I believe. I got a pen from my uncle that time. I don't think I go crazy for any gifts I get from anyone. It is a pleasure getting them for me. I can keep that gifts for a long long time but I can't go crazy for them. I admire them!

You are such a good person. You display such respect for your elders, and even though that should be automatic for people, it does not always happen. He has indeed given you a special gift. And in turn, you have repaid him by being such a loyal and attentive student. The world would be a better place if there were more people like you.

Hello dear friend Shamrack. It is so nice of your uncle to have sent you a nice Bible, which reminds me of the Bible that was given to me by my American colleague years ago. It is written in both English and Chinese. I have read some parts of it, but have not finished reading it yet. I also bought one for my mother to read. Now this bilingual edition of mine is with my son, who reads it once in a while. Thank you for your response. Take care, friend.

I guess you are different from others as he gave you the best gift to you. I think he know what you like best and that is why he prefer to have it for you. He treat you a very special friend just like with the book. You know in my own peception here, he gave it in the sense that once you open it you will not forgot him all the time. Because when you read and scan the pages you will always remember those days that you are in the peers and happy together. Good memories can be cherished as you go along the different topics of the book. Congrats for the gift that you have and I know you will keep it until the end of time. I also have gift from a retired teacher it is an oganizer. I kep it as our souvenir and i can remember her many times as the years added and that organizer is the one that could initiate her to be remember the good times we have.
