Whe does the money becomes meaningless and useless?

Money - Money does not have any significance in many situations in our life.

Can you think of one such situation in a person's life?

When you have no friends? Money can't buy happiness... it never could, and people hang around you more with bad intent when you have money. They're not friends. I would rather keep the friends who love me for who I am without it, than the false friends you seem to accumulate when you do have money. Just the bare essentials are fine, if you have treasured friends. Brightest Blessings.

Thanks for reflecting my own views. Money becomes meaningless after a point of accumulation too. You cannot eat what five persons can and you cannot fly in two aero planes or drive in all the luxury cars you have bought at the same time. What you can do is to have a taste of things as you become wealthy which I don't thing many rich people do. And on the other hand an eye for the taste also doesn't require money it needs only the mental makeup. So as you say enough money for our need s and a treasure of true friends would be heavenly.

We seem to think alike on a lot of things my friend. Money is just a necessity that you can have too much of and which can totally ruin your life if you don't know how to use the excess. I would use mine to help others but not the "hangers-on" who only appear to be your friends when you have the money. I'd use it on older, trusted friends and those in real need.

1) When we die 2) When we don't have Peace of mind. 3) When nobody is there to show the real concern, the one which does not involve in it lust and greed. 4) When the countries Inflation is too much. For example in Zimbabwae i heard that it is in excess around 1000% 5)When every human being in the world learn to live the life of birds and animals. 6) When humans desist the habit of Savings for future,..money automatically looses shine and value. 7) When the old merchandising habits are established again, The BARTERING SYSTEM. AND THE LIST GOES ON.. Take care friend.

$35 billion- one egg - The inflation in Zimbabwe is astronomical and hard to comprehend.
Zimbabwe's official inflation rate has surged to 231,000,000% as on December 2008 Sai.A single egg in Harare now costs $35-billion. Money is really meaningless isnt it? http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/oct/09/zimbabwe

Even if you are the wealthiest person in the world but when you or a loved one is terminally ill and there is no available cure even if you are ready to spend any amount or every cent you have, money would become meaningless and useless. another instance is when you lose someone you love and no amount of money will bring her/him back. or if it is the end of the world when definitely money loses any value at all.Orr when you are dying of thirst in the desert with a suitcase full of cash but no water is available to buy. Or when you are one of the richest passengers on the Titanic......

I think that money becomes useless when one does not have their health, or loved ones around. If one has all the money in the world, it means nothing if they do not have the love of their family, or love of others, or their health. Money won't go with you after you die.

Many people get caught up in the cycles of believing that money is the answer to life's problems, but of course it is not! Yes it's a necessity on the modern world, but money also only gives a person the chance to satisfy materialistic desires. It doesn't address personal growth or true internal satisfaction at all! If we were to really think long and hard about it, it's actually the simple things in life that cost NOTHING that truly matter to us. Money is a necessary evil, sure, but just because a person has a lot of it doesn't mean they've discovered happiness. As one parable states - "It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven". If we were to look at this metaphorically, Heaven doesn't have to be God's realm as such, it could be internal peaceon-materialistic happiness. I envy those that can live their life without a care in the world for money! Not the rich mind you, but those that have foregone materialistic desires.

When a person is on the brink of dying and there's no cure. Being in prison is also a situation, assuming money can't buy a way out. Being alone on a deserted island, shipwrecked, are just a few instances I can think of. I think you're going to get some interesting responses, Bala.

Money will only be meaningless and useless if a person has too many of it that he doesnt know what to do with it anymore. In that case, spending on too many materialistic things will be too much that the person dont have anything to do with the excess money but to just give it away to charities. That way they help other people who are short on money and who really needs it.

Money becomes meaningless and useless in a person's life when that is all he or she has left. For example, if Bill Gates, one of the richest person in the world and founder of Microsoft, had no family or friends and all he had was his money, then it would become meaningless. Why? Because life is not all about money. There is more to life than money such as love, friendship, and family to list a few. So if all you have is money, and no one has any respect for you or you have no one to love and care about, then money will become meaningless and useless.

Yes abundant money without the other pleasures of life is definitely meaningless and sure is a burden.

I think that is particularly true because money is usually used to get the pleasures in life but if you only have money, it is pointless. Money is worthless, but what we do with it is more valuable.

I can think of an instance in my own life when all the money in the world made no difference. My mother in law was diagnosed with cancer late last year and she passed away a couple of months later. She lived a long away from us and we all flew over to see her for what we knew would be the last time. We watched her waste away and we saw how frivolous it is to have lots of "stuff" in situations like this. If you don't have your health and people to love and who love you all the riches in the world are meaningless.

Hello balasri! I guess money becomes useless when nobody loves and cares for me anymore. I mean, yes I can buy everything and do whatever I want nbody loves me, what's the use. For me, I want to earn and work to be able to survive and help my family as well.

There may be different issues but when we can’t save somebody’s life with money then it will be really a waste thing. We need money for our day to day expenditure. Without money we can’t survive and simultaneously it can’t buy happiness. It is fact money can’t help us all the time and I think we all should understand the same and live accordingly. Too much money will be a burden for some people.

All the money in the world will not bring back a loved one. Nothing will do that. Having a huge amount of money will not replace a loved one as loved ones cannot be replaced by anything in this world. Money will not make memories any better either because the most expensive model of a photographic camera can only take photos of the present, not of the past.

I think that money becomes useless when you realize you can't take it with you. I think that having a lot of money is by no means a fullfilment when you look back and see you might leave this world and you haven't said the things you needed to say or done things that needed to be done. That to me is when it becomes meaningless.

The ones quoted by some friends here are definitely some of the times in life when we feel that money is completely useless and without any meanings at all. Rite bnow, i am earnings good amounts of money even when i am still single, but I feel that the money is useless because i am really not at all satisfied with the position that I am holding now and is just waiting for the promotion that might come my way. So i can add another thing is job satisfaction in life, without it money is useless. There is a saying: three(3) things in life that will give you happiness are, Somebody to love, Something to do and something to hope for. It was never money that brings any real happiness to anybody in life. It was just momentary happiness.
