Hi guys! I have a quick question I'm not quite sure about... I have large pores, and I was wondering if I was able to tighten them, and shrink them, would that help clear up my skin more/faster? Would it be good for my to get some kind of pore minimizer skin care to help me clear my acne, or do they have nothing to do with eachother? Thanks!

I also have big pores and i find i get very oily skin so i have to use blotting paper throughout the day to make sure i keep them clean. I have also stopped using any products on my skin and just washing. At night before i was i do massage my face with Olive oil as this is a natural moisterizure which is supposed to pull all the oil and dirt out your pores. As to making them smaller if you suceed please let me know as i have tried most things.

I'm no professional on the matter, but what I've been told over the years, and what seems to make sense--is the first thing you want to do, using a gentle anti-bacterial soap is wash your face (or other skin area) with very warm (but not too hot) warm, and gently massage the face (not scrub vigorously which could only lead to irritation). After washing, good rinsing still with warm water, then apply cold water--to close pores. The occasional astringent might help, but some suggest that in the long run the irritation can only complicate complexion problems. I'd talk to a dermatologist if we want to stop beating around the bush. dr...

I think that may do you alot of good. Your pores must be filling with bacteria and causes the acne to flare up.

Larger pores means that they dirt accumulates in them more easily and that also means that you can get acne more easily. Pore minimizing creams would definitely help :) Thanks for the response on my discussion!

To tighten your pores, clean your face as you usually do. Before bed time steam your face. Get a bowl pour hot water place your face at about 4-5 inches away from the bowl for about 5 minutes. This can open your pores more to unclog your pores it makes some oils and dirt get out from it then wash with water only and use your moisturizer. In the morning after bed, clean your face as usual, then get one ice cube apply it allover your face until you feel your pores is tighten but no more than 3 minute. After this you can resume to put your makeup. Do this as part of your daily regimen this can make your pores smaller and this is good anti-aging too specially in the part of your eyes, laugh line and under chin.

Yes that can be tricky large pores I mean. I like to use witch hazel to tighten the pores before applying moisturiser and then foundation. It helps clean the skin too and tone it. I think there may be other products online that help to minimise the pores too. I guess you could do a search and see what comes up. That one I spoke about helps a bit I think.

Actually, having smaller pores would make you more susceptible to acne because the smaller openings will block more easily. The larger pores are easier to keep clean and unblocked.
