His face appeared on all the network stations

Yesterday Obama gave one of his presidential debates and it was not about General Motors, and for some reason the Presidential debate was on the Central Time Zone and also the Pacific Time Zone at the same time. (Luckily we got to watch our other shows from ten on.) Now I know that if it is seven pm here in Winnipeg, MB and also in Minneapolis, Minnesota, it is not seven pm in Vancouver, B.C. or Los Angeles. So has Obama a godlike power that makes his debate transfix time? Or am I looking at something like that movie 1984 when Big Brother appeared at the same time on all the Tv channels in the world? Is this a bit scarey?

CNN recorded it again and again. But is not a Presidential Speech supposed to be live?

Everything relating to Obama is scary. What I found to a slip that Obama's minions must have missed was at 8pm when his debate was showing on all the other major networks FOX was showing "Lie to Me" which seemed appropriate for it to be on a the same time as the other lie program. Of course I watched FOX as it did not pretend to be anything but pretence.

It does seem appropriate. We watched "Lie to Me" later on at 10 pm.

There's nothing scary about Obama being seen across the country at the same time. As you go west the tv programs we see are on an hour earlier. We watch tne national news here where I live at 6:30 and in Nebraska it will be on at 5:30 and so on.

It is scary because we see the channels shown on our Tv listing because we get digital cable, and we get for instance, Survivor here at 7 Pm, but in Seattle, it is listed here at 10 pm midnight. So according to that, Obama's Press Conference should have pre-empted the show in Seattle that was listed at 10 pm on our listing (we are in the Central time zone) and was scheduled to be shown at Seattle at 7 pm. Now do you get it? That means that in Seattle, they pre-empted one of the afternoon shows, either the Judge Shows, or the Soap Operas. So Obama performed some sleight of hand.

NO way. We live in Canada but we watch the stations from Detroit, rather then the CTV and CBC, the exception being weather, local news, hockey and curling. So when I saw NBC, CBS, and ABC had the Presidental conference it made me a bit nervous. Of course, I am certain if there had not been something going on CBC, they would have put on the Obama speech there, but I was able to watch Criminal Minds on CTV. and did not watch CBC, not found of comedies.

FOX was the only regular national network that didn't show him and , of course, they got some flack for it!

I watched Criminal Minds on our own CTV Network and then I watched Lost on ABC, but then I live in Canada. So if any of you down there can get Canadian Stations you can watch your favorite show then, of course you might miss out on the "whats on next week," but at least you will not see Big Brother's face staring at you.

Maybe not godlike but he can I am sure talk the cable companies into putting what he wants up. And most would have been happy to oblige. It is just a timing thing I am sure. I didn't know about the 1984 movie Big Brother coming on all channels..but then at that time we didn't have television.

I think it's closer to Big Brother. Why should Vancouver knock off other programming or postpone it to show that press conference? He's not your prez. He has no power except that given to him by the people and the people-those that holler the loudest, at least-seem to think he's one step below God. Yes, this is scary and I hope we make it through the next 3 3/4 year with minimal damage but I'm not optimistic.
