it seems like no matter where i go the fries are always nasty now! i remember when you could count on everywhere having good fries and now its like i rather not even GET fries because even if they are HOT they are gross or bland etc.. i dont know what the deal is... is it because they banned an ingredient or something?!? have you noticed it being harder to find good fries at restaurants and fast food lately?

I'm gonna have to say that I think that 1. Sonic has the best curly fries. 2. would have to be burger king, and 3. Huddle house french fries taste pretty good, but I can also see what you mean though, fries lately do need a bit more salt or something to make them taste pretty good.

Well, in an effort to save us from ourselves, they all have changed the oils they fry up our fries and now they have lost alot of their flavor. If I had to rank fast food fries, my top honors would go to #1 Culvers. really there fries are quite tasty just as they serve them. I don't need to add anything, even salt, to just gobble them up. #2 would go to White Castle. They have the crinkle cut fries and are also quite tasty, but many times I have to add a bit of salt. In the #3 spot comes Wendy's. They can be hit or miss though, because I tend to like them way less as they cool off. Those are my top 3, at least for fast food chains.

I just went to a fast food joint last night and got some fries and they where horrible! I thought I was the only one who noticed that fries are getting really gross. They tasted like they hadn't changed their oil at all in months. They should have to change it every day but that might be too costly. I think the only fries that taste really good are the one's you get in a cafe that people actually make from real potatoes.

Hi, I don't really enjoy the fries at most fast-food or other restaurants. The only place I go for fries is A&W where they have curly fries, which I still find really tasty!

seems like if you order curly or seasoned fries at places they still will be good its just the regular fries that are horrible

In my experience you will need to go to Australia, Belgium or the UK to find good "French Fries" or "Chips" as I know them. The modern long thin versions are cooked in various oils. Good chips should be cut much thicker and fried in real fat. Not healthy but they taste great with added salt and vinegar. The Belgians cover them in mayonnaise which is also good.

You should come to Canada, and try the fries and burgers we have at harvey's. Burgers are right off the grill, and fries are made of real potatoes. You can tell they're real potatoes, and not just the same mass produced crap we seem to get at all of the other fast food places.

I find that since the resturants changed to a different type of frying oil...the transfat free stuff fries and anything deep fried really doesnt taste all that good. I find that these days i like to make my own from potatoes and deep fry them in canola oil and then put seasoning salt on them. And Whatever mcdonalds changed to every time i eat anything deep fried at mcdonalds anymore gives me stomach cramps and diarrhea so i dont get deep fried foods there anymore.

Yes....i hope it has been nearly six months since i had some good tasty French Fries, the last time i ate was in an ice cream parlour called milky way, which was okay (not very good), but after that, i even tried in KFC last week, it was just tasteless and once i pick the fry, it bends and just slacky and dont even feel like taking it into the mouth, and now-a-days, i feel the fries that i make at home are better that those sold outside, donno how come it is the same in all the restaurants
