The Foundation Center has a list of all institutions that give grants and what they fund and how often, etc., etc.
What is the closest major city to where you live?

Um... depends on what constitutes as a major city. Hayward? Eau Claire? Superior?

Nope. In my town there is a grocery store, two gas stations, a real estate building, a library, an eBay resale shop, a small main street shop, a post office, and six or so churches. That is my town. I MIGHT get the small main street shop to do post cards or something if I can get them printed.

Whichever is large enough to have a local branch of your state's arts council. The end all place to go for grants is the National Endowment for the Arts but you need a track record. This means starting with local agencies and working your way up.
I take it there are no art galleries in your town where you can show and sell your work?

I'll keep watching this thread. We, too, are interested. I've always heard that women have a better chance of getting one to start a business since we're a minority.
