Sorry for putting this in 'making money' but I had to. I am getting very tired of seeing a message pop up and then when I go see it, it is from someone I don't talk to regularly who is leaving me a message or note about going to another site where I can get paid. I'm going to make this clear. I do enjoy mylot. I enjoy it a lot. However! I am not here primarily for trying to make oodles of money. I enjoy the discussions and I like this format. I do not really go to a host of money making sites, and if I did, they would have to be sites that did not entail doing extra things, like clicking, trying to get referrals or people to join me or under me, etc. It also has to be something where you make a realistic amount of money for your efforts, I'm talking where it's possible without doing a lot of 'work' to make at least $1 a day, not something where you have to entice 5000 people to click thru your site daily to even get a few cents. Great, this discussion about spam just caused a loud noise in my house, and everybody is supposed to be sleeping... so, whoever spammed me, please don't do it again. It's not personal, it's just not really wanted.

I hear where you are coming from. i have gotten a few of those kinds of messages here too. i don't mind learning about new sites, but from my friends. from those people i know and trust. not from some random person who i don't even talk to. i too would like to say thank you but no thank you on the spam messages

A good friend who found something reputable and legitimate would likely contact me another way.... you know, personally. I did join a site once that a good friend recommended. He and I talked on yahoo about it, and I've known him going on 9 years now lol. Anyway, it was indeed a reputable site, but they went belly up before I had received my gift card, and that was a bummer. I should have gotten a $50 visa giftcard... and I never had to invest a dime. I just invested a lot of time at the site lol. However, he'd been a member longer so he'd already been able to cash out for 4 gift cards and he and his wife used them to take their son to Disneyworld when he was still a baby. I thought it was pretty cool.

I am glad that I am not one of your target users for this discussion. I have no time to send PM to other mylotians because I think that I will make more money by doing discussions or response or comments. People who are sending you messages to annoy you, don't deserve to be in your friends list, do they?

Not really, no. I'm not sure what possesses people but oh well. All I can do is ignore them or make an offhanded comment and hope they 'get it'. lol!

The users that are sending PMs with spam are also starting dicussions about their so-called 'best sites ever' so it is enough to check their profile and find a discussion they started and report it. Once they get reported a few times they will not be able to do it again. Time wasters who are not welcome here!

I also got messages like those but now I don't get any (please don't send any if someone is thinking of it) Mylot should give an option to block PM from these people as if they can't spam in discussion(though no one cares of the rules) they do it by PM and waste our time as I have a habit of reading whole messages even if they are junk

If they send you spam in PMs you delete them from your friend list. Then when they request you again you leave them hanging and they won't bother you again. Don't accept and don't deny either - put them on the clothes line

yes, i also encounter lots of spam from people, all they want is that i be their refferal in some site or other, first, they sign up for a website that pay them money (most of the website actually scam) then, they keep spamming you that you can earn unlimited money, (lies) then, they find themselves with nothing but a huge waste of time... PS:- If you want to earn money, then find a job in your local town or city. NOT ONLINE (get a life!) as online income is not reliable for individuals. PPS:- ah, this wasted a lot of my preciously important time...

LOL! It just annoyed me to get a message that was just one of those referral things. Online income HERE is quite reliable, but it's not enough to live on. The problem is you have to have time to invest here, and a lot of people think they can just make oodles in a day. It doesnt' work that way.

I understand what your going ture i have that crap aswell and this is what i done to try and stop it yahoo try there best to stop this but theres always a few knobs that get ture all the best and don,t let it get to you its part of the computer world.

I do just delete the messages and whatnot... there are some people I have met here who have become real friends, we communicate outside of this site. This just happens to be where we met up. I love to interact here, but not necessarily about making extra money lol. My favorite topics concern real life and have little to do with earning money.... I pretty much just posted this discussion to maybe make the person who sent me the message think again before spamming me for no reason. Kind of a heads-up for them.. and a note to anybody else on my friends list that THAT isn't why I'm here so asking me to be your referral or join you at x site isn't going to be worth your time.

I hate when people do that. Usually when it happens I write the person politely and explain that |I am not looking for other websites specially the ones that offer what you mention in your discussion and that I am not interested in receive those kinds of personal messages. The majority of people I contact this way don't send me any more of those messages. The few that continue are warned 3 times that I will delete them as friends if I keep getting messages and then delete if it persists.

I think that the moderator of MyLot should keep an eye on such spamming activity in MyLot and eliminate those who make use of Mylot to spam members especially on getting referrals and joining one of those Get-Paid-To sites. I do receive some PMs as well every now and then. I would appreciate if the person were to courteously ask if they can share those links and stuffs like that. At least I would respect them. Hope MyLot will be able to do something to get rid of such activities here.

If I were you I'd report those spammers and delete them from my friends list.
