Do you like being kissed and licked by your dog or pet?

I don't . I find it disgusting. but i find or see so many people who find their pet so adorable that it is just fine with them to kiss their dogs in the lips. I wonder how the dog smell like if they kiss the dog. I do like pets but not to the point of hugging them a lot and give them a kiss. Though it is just normal if you those things but i just find it unnecessary . i feel happy just seeing them around and having to care for them and see to it that they are healthy and they have all they need. if they need to play they can play around the house . round around.

My dogs are constantly licking my arms and legs all the time. I told my hubby I must taste like a lollipop because they're constantly licking my skin. That doesn't bother me at all but it sure does grate on my husband's nerves. lol I'm not much into kissing the mouth area though but I do hug them and play around with them. We let them come inside our home because it's their home too. They're well kept up with Frontline Plus so they don't have fleas or ticks so that's no problem. Animals love affection and attention and deserve to have it because they ask for so little and give so much.

yes those are really way too much to be close to our pets. pets carry bacteria in their mouth and saliva. i don't want to have those germs or bacteria right to my mouth. no matter how cute they are. i will just like a swift smoochies too on the cheeks but for sure i will soon wipe out clean my cheeks as soon as the dog has kiseed me.

Actually, dogs and cats have less bacteria in their mouths than humans do! So you get more germs from smooching other people on the lips than smootching your pet! My cat doesn't kiss me but she likes to cuddle (when she is in the mood for it) and rub her head against me. It's really sweet and she's nice to pet. I do remember liking it when my dog licked me though, back when I had him!

i think i have to protest with your comment than we humans has more bacteria in our mouth than from dogs and cats. how come their's are more cleaner since we know that they don't brush their teeth and they licked their body to clean themselves specially cats. so how come you can conclude that. have you read it somewhere . hope that you can give more details and reasons for your comment.

I have a red Australian shepherd female dog. She is a great dog but she has on habit that I hate. She is a licker. She has her tongue going all the time one is around her. She even lick your clothes. I wish I could break her of all the licking. The only time she doesn't have her tongue going is when I throw her squeaky ball off the deck for her to fetch. I lover but hate being licked anywhere by her.

I don't like my dogs to kiss or lick me. They eat dog food and I am a vegan. My youngest dog tries to lick my toddler son but I say no to her. I love to cuddle my dogs and stroke their fur. I adore animals and want them to be happy. I like to feel clean and not have germs on my hands.

i DONT LIKE BEING KISSED AND LICKED AS WELL.dog saliva is as dirty as human salive or worst still.since they are always roaming around and licking everythin around and after every meal you never see them brushing their teeth.Just imagine how dirty is that and how that can infect our skin.Well if dogs wash their mouth and brush their teeth i think it would be slightly okay...

Seems that it is the human who has the most bacteria. Then comes the cat, then comes the dog. Scientifically proven.

I'll let them to lick me and kiss me. Because, as humans, we can express our love in any way. We can hug each other, Cry for each other, ... or at least express our words love in words. But, those animals don't know to hug, to cry, to speak. We must let them show their love!

I like the hugging and cuddling part and I may even plant a kiss on my dog but I did not like being licked by her. We have this dog still at my in-laws place, she's a real homely one, always wagging her tail and expressing her desire to be among us, but she does overdo it at times...she'll just jump up on the bed, leaving a carpet of hair on it (which I would then have to brush off) and she would lick my face...which I found disgusting (her breath kind of smelled an animal smell)

I love my dogs very much but I draw the line at kissing them on their mouths. I do hug them and pet them a lot as pets need to be shown love.

I don't have a dog or cat now, but when I have I can't say I liked it when my dog jumped up and licked my mouth - in fact I didn't like the experience at all, especially when I think of the places dogs tend to lick! But having had this experience many times because I grew up with dogs, I can't say that I ever came to any harm. But it is certainly not something I would choose to do! Hugging and playing with a puppy is OK though.. - Derek

I never kiss my dog and don't even think of doing it. In my country most of the pet especially dogs would not be allowed to enter the house. Mostly people take a dog solely to protect the house from unwelcome with bad intention visitors. Have a nice day mylotter..

I don't do that, for my pet I can touch him or play them, but there is not a reason can let me kiss them. These will let me feel terrible, maybe my obsessive is too serious.

Ya, me myself also not realy fond of kissing the pets such as dogs. I will think that it's not hygiene to do that. It is still fine for me to hug them and play around with them, and alos being licked by the dog. When the dog licks, it is just its way of showing its friendliness to you and we do not really need to be irritated or felling disgust. It is just that for the hygiene purposes, it'll be better for us to wash our hands and body after playing with the pets. We won't know what kind of bacteria is there and whether it is harmful to our body.

I too find it disgusting. Petting, playing and hugging him is enough along with of course taking good care of him. I also can't see letting a dog sleep with you. Maybe if its small and on top of the covers at the end of the bed, but you sometime see these big dogs that take up most of the bed. That is really disgusting. How do you feel about dogs sleeping in your bed?

I have a puppy German shepherd. We are in the process of getting to know each other. You know it takes time. As with Misty, the german shepherd I had before, I am making very clear certain rules of the house. The indoors is for people to live, the outdoors is for dogs. Fortunatly we have a mild winter in my country so it´s no problem. The other important thing is that she can play with me (and lick me) when I´m in the mood and dressed for the occation. I do not let animals hug and kiss me and I even ask my youngest grandchildren to have a good handwash (supervised) with soap after playing with the dog. Animal bacterias are not the same as mine. And even Misty (who wouldn´t eat out of her plate if it weasn´t shining clean) would smell other dogs butts taking a walk.YUCK!!! So, for me, it´s a NO WAY!!!

oh that is so disgusting. the mere feel of their wet tongue disgusts me. Although, I have pets, I don't let them lick me. I love them too and love caring for them. Like you, I just feel great when I see that they are healthy and I enjoy playing with them.
