Well, my son woke up this morning, and no sooner than he could rub his eyes, he says, mommy, daddy said if you don't give us cookies for breakfast, then your fired.....it didn't take me long to evaluate the situation all though, many thoughts ran through my had like, would I get unemployment, pay for all the vacation days I never used, or the sick days, or some type of compensation for the many raises I didn't get but felt I was more than qualified for.....long story short, after i explain my case to my son, he did fire me, but rehired me cause I could cook a pretty good waffle. Have you been canned by your kid and why?

I love it! I wouldn't mind being fired for a day! Having a day off would be wonderful. We all know that the rewards we earn are far the best at any job. Did he at least get a cookie after the waffle?

Yes I have and like you I thought the same thing. I also starting thinking of all the things I could do now that I did not have to take care of children all day long...

Hahaha. That's so cute. How old is your son? I never fired my parents when I was younger. And of course he'd rehire you because of food...what kid doesn't think about food in the end? :-p

That is cute and funny. Definitely better than being canned in the real world. At least at home you know everybody loves you and it only lasts a few minutes before they realize they can't function without you. :)

LOL! That is adorable. Getting fired for being a mom might be a relief some days! Can I hire you? I could go for a good waffle right about now!! I dont have the option of being fired by my kids... I dont have any!! But I did just find out today that I will have a job for at least a while longer. I am a temporary employee, but they are extending my time. WOOHOO! One less job I have to worry about being fired from. Now if only I could get my husband to fire me as the dish washer...

Nicely said and done. Well I guess being a mother really deserves to be bowed upon for the services rendered for free to the family. I guess you are right about that and you have sincerely expressed your thoughts to your son and hopefully your husband.

I have never been fired before but I have threatened to go on strike a time or two. I figure the first day or two they probibly will think it is great. No homework or chores, dinner from the drive through, and all the tv and games they can handle. The third day I think they would start to notice all I do, when the clothes start to run out, the sink is full of dirty dishes and the house is all disorganized and dirty and there is no food in the fridge. I think moms do a lot more then their families notice. Maybe we should organize a strike.

this is funny. Your own kid firing you. I love mothers, and i love my mom so much. I have no kids but im the one who take of my nieces when my sister is at work. i also remember the tv commercial during mothers day, the kid is telling that her mom part of the body are for every body, her hands are for the daughter, her body are for the husband, even her feet are for the dog. But she is not expecting anything in return so its us who should return back the things that our mother is doing for us.

Dont stress. Kids are a lot of the time influenced by things that arent meant to be taken literally. You just have to ignore it. I give a kid max. a day before they realise how much they need you

It's good to know that kids still appreciate a good waffle. My son isn't old enough to fire me yet, as he's only 6 months old, but I'm sure it's coming. I can see it in his eyes every time I feed him something he dosen't like, or if I leave him down for what he considers too much tummy time. lol
