I love making lasagna! Especially now since I have a pasta machine, I can make my own fresh pasta at home!. I make everything from scratch so it takes me a few hours but it is SO worth all the effort. I just love the cheesiness and meatiness of it all. The meat sauce is really the heart of the entire dish so that must be cooked low and slow in order to achieve maximum flavor. Pair it up with some freshly baked garlic Parmesan bread sticks, mmmm. ^_^

Well because it is so easy I like to make spaghetti with meat sauce. It also tastes really good too, but mostly I make it because it is easy, and it is quick to make. As far as cooking and eating I would say lasagnia. It takes some effort to make but when it is all done and ready to east it is soooo good, and makes the hard work worth it. I only make it about once or twice a year.

Stuffed Manicotti...I love to stuff them with ground beef/Italian sausage mix with peppers and onions and lots of mozzeralla cheese.....then I put a red spaghetti sauce over them then more cheese....when you bite into them....wow! Yummy..but they are kind of a pain to make...but well worth it.

I like pasta, but I don't cook much of it because I don't know how! And when I cook pasta, I make the sauce with grapes tomato, onion, garlic and add some basil at the end. Sometimes I also add minced meat, but I like it better with no meat and I don't why.

My favourite pasta dish to eat is fettucine alfredo but I don't make it often because it is so rich and full of cream, butter and calories. My next favourite pasta dish to eat is canneloni or lasagna with ricotta cheese and spinach. But the easiest pasta dish to make that tastes great is roasted cherry tomato/zucchini penne. All you have to do is throw a whole bunch of cherry tomatoes, zucchini (with the skin on) cut into circles, onion and garlic into a pan with some olive oil, salt, pepper, and a pinch of oregano into the oven and roast it for 20 minutes at 350f. Then put it on top of cooked penne pasta (add some of the salted cooking water to make a sauce), a bit more olive oil, some fresh basil leaves, and grated Asiago or Parmesan cheese, and freshly grated black pepper. It is so simple to make and tastes amazing!

Another great pasta to make is "fake lasagna" as I like to call it. It is so much easier to make than real lasagna and takes a lot less time, but you still get all the flavour. My family loves this (I don't eat meat, so it is just for them). I use penne pasta or rigatoni instead of lasagna noodles. I make the meat/tomato sauce as usual and pour it all over the partially cooked pasta and mix it all around. Then I add grated parmesan and mozzarella and mix it in as well. Make sure you don't cook the pasta all the way through on the stove top or it will be mushy by the time it comes out of the oven. Just boil it for around 5 minutes. I put everything into the oven for 15-20 minutes just to melt the cheese and serve hot with garlic bread and tossed green salad.

My husband usually makes the pasta dishes. He loves his sauce. We have something pasta related every Sunday. My favorite dish to make myself is my easy lasagna. It isn't super fancy, but it tastes really good and it's quick to make. So, if I am in the mood for lasagna, but don't want to take the time to make the "real" dish, I make easy lasagna.
