Have you ever wandered friends why people go to church? Generally, people go to church to listen to God's Word. By it, they feel that their strengths are renewed and are ready to live again for the next week. Others go because it is their desire to give glory to God. What about you friends? What do you think why people go to church?

I think most people go, because they want to hear the Word of God. What message God has to offer on this day. Others do however go out of obligation to the community, or to keep their visual standing in the community. I have not been in a while, but i do need to start going again. I got tired of watching hypocrites, and listening to false prophet.

I know it is not in the best of our taste, however, there are many people who go to church every Sunday, right on schedule, and even showing up early, just to impress those around them, and the community. They don't seem to realize that those are not whom they need to be concerned about, yet, they seem to "miss" the whole point.

Hi there Shirley. It brings burden in the heart knowing why others just go to church for community obligation. This reminds me of the pharisees whom Jesus described in the Bible saying that these pharisees know a lot about the Word of God, but they do not seem to know and understand how they are applied in real life. Going to church is just like a show-off and this drains the energy. However, I pray that people would all one day go to church because they really want to hear the Word of God and become prosperous in their spiritual life.

church - church,house of God,holy place
People go to church because they want to praise and pray to God. It is already a living tradition to attend mass every Sunday. It is one way of worshiping God and showing him our love and respect for him. The church is like a living home of God here on earth. So...we go there to pay our love and respect.

Hi reckon. It is such a blessing to know that there are people like you who have the idea of going to church for the reason of praising God instead of just sitting down and expect something to happen. God bless!^^

Hi France, From the beginning of time, people have had a desire to know more than we can comprehend with the five senses. This has resulted in the idea of a creator and hence thedevelopment of religions. Many people today attend church because they have been indoctrinated from early childhood to believe they should. Others attend because they enjoy getting together with those who believe as they do while still others find comfort in their beliefs. There is nothing wrong with having such beliefs as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others. Blessings.

Hello Pose. You are truly right that human beings were created as worshipers. It is my hope that people go to church for them to know more about our Savior Jesus christ and acknowledge that without Him, Jesus, we are nothing. God bless!^^

Because it is expected! Because it is a habit. To socialize and worship. The reasons are as varied as the people who attend.

How have you been roberten? It is true that people have varied reasons why they go to church. On the other hand, it is my hope and prayer that they would all go for the reason that they acknowledge their weaknesses and see that without God, they are nothing. Blessings!^^

The reason why I go to church is to basically relieve myself from that week. Right now a lot of negative things are going on in my life. So I go to church to basically let it out, sometimes I cry or I might be really silent(which is a scary thing because I talk a lot:) and I talk to God about my problems. One thing I must say is the church doesn't make you believe you have to take it upon yourself to accept and follow. Now don't get me wrong there are a lot and I mean a lot of hypocrites in church, where I'm from we call them bench warmers. The reason why we call them that is because there not doing anything but keeping the benchs company!! But you just have to brush them off and remember that it's only going to be you and God on judgement day.

Hello there janet. It truly lightens the heart when we go to God and tell Him our problems. Like what He said in His precious Word, "Come to me all you who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest." With that verse, I go to church, and describe my present situation to Him. Although I can do that even when I do not go to church, it gives me such a wonderful feeling whenever I listen to worship songs. Speaking about benchwarmers, I just pray that all people going to church would involve themselves into the works of God for them to experience how it feels when laboring with Him. God bless!^^

The church is only a building that is to bring the people of God together to worship Him, study His Word and to fellowship among those who believe in Him. It is important that we all find a place to participate in all of these things. It is the place where we go to become better prepared to "go and make disciples among all the nations." This is something that we as believers have the responsibility to do. The Bible tells us that we are not to neglect our coming together to encourage each other in the Lord. I too know that some people only come out of obligation but even if the tinest amount of the truth seeps into their minds and hearts maybe...hopefully someday it will become a reality for them.

You are right....the church is a place where believers gather together for fellowship; It is a dwelling place for encouragement, for comfort, for laughters, for studying God's Words, and a lot more. However, this does not always happen, for just like what you have said, there are people who just come for the sake of coming. But God says in His Word that His Word will not return void. Blessings!:)

Supposedly people go to church because the church is their sounding board, and I don't mean the church itself but I mean the members of the church. It's not easy to sustain your faith all the time so members are supposed to help each other with that. I stopped going to church years ago... I felt like a hypocrite.

Hello there emandi. The Bible says that we go to church to have fellowship with our brothers and sisters. As I understand this verse, it is a good chance going to church to give strength as well as receive strength from others. I just hope that all people will soon realize the importance of going to church and of course the motives that people have why they want to go there...blessings!

To praise the lord, god. This is a very simple answer. There are lots of advantages of going to church. You can see lots of peple there and listen to a thoughtful speech given by priest. Praying together and signing together give you pleasure and happiness.
