a problem with peeing when ever any one comes home. Do you know how to take care of this issue?

My german shephard did this too and sometimes still does. Is your dog ull grown or still a puppy? It's common for puppies to do it because they get so excited and their little bladder's can't hold it. If he is a puppy he might just need some time to grow out of it and his bladder to mature a little more. I suggest coming in and paying absolutely no attention to the dog. Talking to them or petting them will get them excited and they will pee. When I come home, I ignore my dogs and just walk straight to the back door. I open it up, let them out, and greet them after they have gone pee out there. He still occasionally has accidents but this has really helped me. Good luck!

My mom and I both have a Chihuahua and we noticed that when we get home, they are so excited to see us, and of course we just give them all sorts of attention when we greet each other that they just pee and dribble all over the place. I think it just amounts to the fact that they are so excited by their person coming home that they pee. The way we corrected this was by kind of ignoring them when we first come through the door. We wait a couple of minutes, then greet them calmly. My mom has had many dogs through the years and she said it's been her experience that the smaller dogs have a harder time controlling their bladders.

Yeah she's a small dog as you can see in the picture shes a japanese chin mixed with a bijon Frise . she defenely excited to see us, it almost sad though because she's hardly left alone. so alot of the time she's been with one person all day and it just so happy to see that you have arrived even though she's been taken care of all day... I just find it odd.

is the dog left alone for long? could someone come home to let them out at lunchtime, or a neighbour let them out for you? if they're not alone for longer than they can hold on, then it may be worth ignoring them when you get home. not all day, just until you are settled. so walk through the door, ignore them (even if they wee) make a cup of tea, sit down and relax, and don't greet the dog until they are calm. it sounds like they're excitement at you coming back is making them wee, so they need to start seeing your return as something more low key and calm.

Thanks. The funny thing is that we all learned all those tricks early on. We take her out regularly and she goes. but even if she's just gone pee ten min ago if some one comes home even if others are already with her, she will get overly exsited and just go crazy as she pees... its horrible. she's really cute though.

hi electricskillet! with my dog, we made it sure that we take the dog out early morning and in the afternoon to do his business. just do them everyday until he gets used to it. but there are also products being sold in pet stores. liquid form that you need to pour on one place of your house in a piece of newspaper that you would like them to train to pee or defecate on. they have to get used to the smell of the solution for them to remember that this is their territory to poop on. another thing, dogs understand whenever you say no to a wrong doing that they do. since dogs are fast learners. with my pet, i have noticed that when he feels like peeing or pooping right the very moment, he would always face the door of my room and bark on it as if he is telling me that he wanted to go out to do his business and when you take him out of the house, you would see the after effect. just train and be patient with training your dog.

We've only had her for a lil over a year now, so I guess there is still time for trainning? right? I'm hoping from other post that this is just somthing she'll grow out of. because I feel we have effectivly trained her and that this is somthing uncontrollable... like a dissorder.
