I just love it. It makes me both look and feel slim! It looks like a white crunkly cotton and feels almost like cotton but it does have polyester in the material. The make is 'Faded Glory'. I really love it but the white is no longer white and looks very dingy. According to the washing instructions,I can't use bleach on it to get it a whiter white. Does anyone have any idea as to what I could use?

I would probably go ahead and use bleach anyways, but that's just me. I don't ever really read the washing instructions before I launder my clothes. You could consider using Oxy clean. I use it a lot and really like it!

Now I do have some Oxtclean - I had forgotten about this as it is so expensive out here that I normally do not buy any. However, I did see on sale at 50% in a hardware store that was closing down. I will go with Lilybug s suggestion of hot water and lemon juice witht detergent first and then if that doesn't work will try the oxyclean.

So do I as I planned to take it when I go on the cruise end of August. Eight nights on board so that is a lot of changes! This top can just be easily washed and hung in the shower overnight to dry. I don't have enough clothes to change twice a day for 10 days without washing! Guess what - I'v now been upgraded to the best accomodation free! Isn't that wonderful?

Hi cynthiann, I was thinking about purchasing a white dye called Rit Dye, I've seen them at Walmart too. Maybe that would work. I like shopping at Walmart too.

Hey cynthiann! I know what you mean about white tops that you can't use bleach on! I don't know what to tell you to use either! You can try to get one of those color beaches, but I don't really think it will brighten it much either! When I was a medical assistant and wore white uniforms I had that same problem! The whites would get dingy so quickly and there wasn't anything I could to to brighten them up! But, that was so many years ago and they have so many brightening things out now that you might be able to find something that does work! Maybe one of those brightening detergents for colored clothes might work. You could try it?

Lilybug suggested soaking it in hot water and lemon slices. I don't have lemons but I do have lime juice so this may do it. Har ddrive crashed again but pc man coming to re install history - have not forgotton to send you something by email to make you smile. If he cannot restore the memory I will want to slit my throat!

Hi Cynthiann: Everything I was gonna suggest for you to use has already been mentioned here; I hope something works out for you, you might get it to come out whiter, and you may not? I like the brand Faded Glory, when I was still working I used to buy a lot of that brand while working there; good luck I hope something works for you; Its very hard to get things to stay white anymore and even harder in this case when its an "offwhite color" and you want it a brighter white...

I no that it wasn't expensive but I need it to wear on my cruise later in the summer. I do not have piles of clothes! It just looks so nice and I feel good in it.
